It makes you wonder though, where the other 25% are done. If 75% is done on a spot....75% of statistics are made up on the spot

Ps. "Mister, will you give me a dollar for my sick wife?" Sorry old man, but I've already got one..."

Great stuff Maj....

G'day Gundy.... Welcome along.
Did you get to Temora? or am I thinking of the wrong person....?
-
Yep... brings the truth outa all you old (cough) fella's....Geez, Tomo, see what you've started........
:black_eye:

Yes, well having flown them also, I agree... and I do like them... but as you say, a fashion statement isn't needed is it?!!Whoa...them's fightin' words Tomo :black_eye: :)Nahh...easy to build, easy to fly (so I've heard), get in and out nearly anywhere, slow enough to enjoy the view when you want to but fast enough to get places when you need to. Don't need to make a fashion statement with a machine like that.

I'll forgives you Bryon...Young Tomo, the last time I saw you on Saturday night you were trying to decide whether to go into town to the dinner or go to the movie in Hangar B. I dont think your mum was worried whatever you did, you just had to make up your mind...PS, sorry I missed saying bye to you and your Mum on Sunday morning, but the weather was too good to delay our departureWell it was a pretty hard decision, though we had fun with everyone at the meal, so twas worth it.

Got the report done finally... sorry about the length, I get a bit carried away......

Good work Watto, sorry I didn't catch up with you at Temora, or did I? ;)
Thanks for the report, I'm working on mine.......

...locksies looking everywhere on the net to work find the scientifically correct meaning to fladulation... it could mean fl adulation, but that transposes into full adulation, which is quite the reverse to what the rodent wanted.
Because being in full adulation is similar to obsequious, which suggests an attitude of inferiority that may or may not be genuine, but that is assumed in order to placate a superior in hopes of getting what one wants. Which is of the complete opposite to the Rat's former intentions.
This strange metamorphosis is counteracted by similar forces in the opposing direction, which once calculated could lead to quite.................

My question exactly!!!why is everyone hell bent on leaving on Sunday when we could enjoy the place for another day?
They were getting out of there sunday morning like the place was going up in flames!Did you go to the De-Briefing social sunday night in the hanger on Taxiway C? Was great fun!

Latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the world's population.

:thumb_up::thumb_up:Add 2% per thousand feet and you can't go wrong!85 knots @ 5000 feet = 94 knots100 knots @ 5000 feet = 110 knots
150 knots @ 5000 feet = 165 knots

Yes indeed...Not a good idea at the many airfields surrounded by bush (& illegal if its in a built up area). Doing a standard overhead join would be much saferJust look out for -
5.6.3 Ultralight aircraft pilots who choose to use the overfly
join procedure above the circuit altitude should be aware that:
• faster larger aircraft may not be able to see you easily;
• faster larger aircraft create significant wake turbulence;
• faster larger aircraft will not be able to slow to the speeds
of an ultralight aircraft and follow; and
• faster larger aircraft—prior to arriving in the circuit and
when below 10,000 FT —can be at speeds up to 250 KT.
Therefore, although aircraft should be at 200 KT
maximum in the circuit, an aircraft reporting at 20 NM
from the aerodrome could be in the vicinity of the circuit
within 5 minutes.
-
David, from what I understand -there is no clear indication as to how slow aircraft should enter the pattern.4.6.4 For low performance ultralight aircraft and rotorcraft with
a maximum speed of approximately 55 KT it is recommended that
the aircraft overfly midfield at 500 FT above aerodrome elevation.
This will minimise the risk of conflict with higher or faster traffic
(see also paragraph 5.5 in this CAAP).
55kts is the max speed, so you'll already be doing only that speed, can't go any faster.

The five P's come to mind....

.... the south pole (where Tomo's Robo is still in big strife, what with Winter on the way and all that).
"No" said the erudite Rat "I meant fladulation (being whipped [i think]), which might lead to copulation .... and a few days later to a stinging sensation, then irritation that might need irrigation with one of Madam Curie's combinations, and a .........................
......combination of an occupation regarding consternation... which would, without resignation lead to....

The Nanna was of the opinion that the Rat was thinking of flagellation. But it is a big word for him.......

Not sure if any of you can remember, I've talked about it before; but I once had a guy get up me for doing radio transmissions when he was trying to teach students to land... extremely bad airmanship I was told.

Natfly does it for me, or 'national flyin' if I'm talking about it to someone not in the know.
Should be called 'Locustfly' really, considering their contribution this yr.
:big_grin:Temora is the way to go, some commented on the distance required to get from that end to the other, but most big shows I've been to you have to go pretty big distances anyway.
The bigger it gets, the further you'll have to walk! ;)
Temora it is, and I'm 110% pleased with this yrs outcome.

Bluey, thanks so much for sharing.
That also highlights so much how helpful our ATC guys are. If you have a legit reason for it, they will go to great lengths to help you out.

As Slarti said, Unicom was on CTAF frequency. Can't help but feel there was a certain amount of confusion at Temora because many didn't understand the role that "Temora Unicom" was playing in the overall operation. I know some pilots flew circuits during the Fly-in with the Unicom frequency on their VHF and didn't tune in the CTAF frequency because they thought the Unicom frequency took priority.
They had a very detailed morning brief for all aircraft doing flights during the day. I was disappointed in how little it was attended.Education and more precise instructions/briefing would fix that problem.
Runways 'were' designated; When I made my 10nm inbound call, Unicom told me of the duty runway in use. Before departure on the ground, you went to a small effort to find out which one was active, and if you said you were taxing to another, I heard they often alerted of the duty/designated runway in use. Some pilots thought better than observing a professional Traffic controllers advise though. With 1000 aircraft in the area maybe it is time for a more "formal" form of control to be applied... eg designation of take-off and landing runways as suggested by "Modest Flyer".
Overall, I enjoyed every second of it, having gone up half a dozen times over the weekend, I didn't have to many worries doing it, Unicom were extremely helpful, they even alerted you of an aircraft not doing the appropriate thing, so you can look out for it, told you about non radio equipped aircraft etc... it was a pleasure.Anything to improve safety overall and let us get on with the job of enjoying our recreational flying.I don't think they had trouble with getting the information out there, it was pilot issues 99.99% of the time.
As a fairly new pilot, and Temora being the first ever 'really' busy place I'd flown to, I ensured I had planned every move, read all the relevant information, understood the procedures, and attended the pilot briefing mornings if I was going to go do any local flying that day. It was a complete pleasure to do it too. I just hope I never become placid and believe I 'know' it all so I don't need to find out what to do.
Just a few things to consider.

Thanks Philthy, yes the sunsets and rises were quite nice! I waited quite a while before I found an aircraft in the right place to take a moon shot! He seemed to understand what I wanted too and even banked a little!
