Makes a lot of cents when you think about it ;)To coin a phrase.
-
And ensure it's not a meter one... cause it'll cost you... ;)Take your time and get the right one. Nev. -
G'day Andrew - Over here I have explained it a bit.
If you want, I'm sure I could nock one together for you If you would like one.
-
That's some serious confusion alright JG! I can just imagine your frustration!!
I hope it works for you now.
Just for interest sake, a customer had an engine that would run for about 30min's and then stop, wait for about 15min and it'll start again, and away you go for another 30min!!
He couldn't figure it, thought it must have been some sort of practical joke! Anyway we found it to be his coil, when it got to a certain temp, it would cut off! Or coil clearance would close sufficiently to make it stop working. (wasn't an aircraft engine btw - Honda I think)
Electronics for ya!! (where is our diesels!)

Hey Chris, great stuff mate, and welcome alone!
As Crezzi has pointed out, Archerfield isn't any good for RAA, due to controlled airspace restrictions, and the landing fees are pretty painful!
I'm not one hundred percent sure where you could go around there, but there is a lot of places around, someone else will help you with that I'm sure.
I learnt at Dalby, which is a great area to learn in! (about 1hr 30-40min from Ipswich). They have Jabiru and Drifter aircraft.
There is also Clifton which is 50 minutes or so from Toowoomba (south/westish), and they also have Jabiru and Drifter aircraft.
Then over toward the coast you have Caboolture, and Boonah, not sure about aircraft types there, but I do know one of them have Tecnams.
If you go here it should be a list of all RAA schools.
Have fun and take care - make sure you lets us know your progress!

I thought I should just point out (for you uneducated) that those rows of colourful things are in fact, cotton modules - compressed cotton ready to be ginned. Each one weighs somewhere between 14-20 ton (depending on the day and module builder driver).
Maj left this morning, beautiful morning for flying here.

A few pic's from this afternoon - Maj Millards visit in his Lightwing (nice aircraft btw!)

Yeah ok.... I followed BNP home from Temora.... nice aircraft.. I'm told that VH-BNP (the Jab they use for publicity etc) had the problem and it was necessary to put some small trim tabs on the ailerons to load them up. -
I mightn't be real bright Ahlow, but I ain't that dim!

Great video thanks Andrew, nice 8-10 kt wind eh?

Has the problem just started? or has it been there since RPM gauge installation? Have you installed anything new lately? Ie, radio, new switch, new coil, mag's etc...
To me, what's is happening is when you switch the Mag off, you open circuit (turn the signal off) to the RPM, thus Zero RPM, but for that to happen, it's wired up wrong. Have you touched it recently?
-
Why the difference?!!Or six inches for you ladies...;)

Heyya Bushy, yep I'm the manager for the photo gallery....Tomo, I see that you are the photo material manager But on the site in the last couple of day there was a photo of a new member as his id type photo and it shows a young chap laying over the bonnet of a car holding a rifle I though this was a aviation,Cars, Motor Bikes,Toys site ?????.Now before you all jump up and down I am also a Rifle shooter and in doing so represent my state in rifle shooting, But I don,t show it on this site ??
The Bushman
For your Avatar (profile pic) It doesn't matter what you do, if you want an aircraft, self portrait or whatever, you can, it is your little flare if you like. An Avatar is a movable icon representing a person in cyberspace or virtual reality graphics.
Hope that helps,
-
Great you got it sorted mate, exactly the same problem I experienced once.
Technical term called 'aileron snatch' I have been told, interesting stuff!
-
Yes, you don't won't drag, but they do have to be in a certain position I found out.Is dropping the ailerons a good idea?Adds unnecessary drag and effectively gets rid of the washout that's been designed into the wing. The ailerons shouldn't flutter at all maybe the cables need to be tightened....
