  1. I think duracell and eveready are both made by American carbide, so when they make their claims of being better than the competitors they don’t get sued. Bulk buying packs are best value with the long shelf life available now.
  2. Their happy hour usually would make that more hazardous, but more work for me with all the carnage, mmm ideas
  3. caravans are the same, who designs a window cutout at 914mm by 565 mm or 280 mm by 1524mm. Doors are 622mm by 1823mm/1750/683 high. awnings are sold in feet measurements, alloy cladding covers 254mm deep (10") good fun when trying to get customers to provide an awning length the correct way when they dont want to come in first for me to check.
  4. Cessna works well, 172 or 182 with long range tanks. Load good, space good (in the 182) speed 120kts is decent normally. Sids is biggest downside. I use a farm strip at moment which is unimproved and works with big wheels 8" and no spats. Pretty hard to break undercarriage, I have tried?, not deliberately.
  5. I like the cable along ground at airports. They seem to be anchored quite well, and the tension on cable pulls ropes taught with some spring if require. I don’t know if the claw set I have in cessna would help in high winds. I do have some alloy star posts and dee shackles to put in kit
  6. Nothing a good buffing shouldn’t fix? it is a shame this one is broken like this. when you look at what some of the restoration projects start out like, there is hope for it.
  7. What’s your rego no on that one, is a 19-xxxx ?
  8. 2 bottles of red later this still hurts my brain to think about.?
  9. Set it at what is published for airport or area and we should all be ok, without the headache And at worst case look at your iPad or phone and go with it.
  10. Speaking of Bex, does anyone know if he is OK and where his build is up too.
  11. Had a short run from Somerton to Baraba today, took a NZ farmhand for his first light plane ride. I aborted my first take off when I wasn’t accelerating enough, first time doing it for real and didn’t stuff it up, I was just off the ground and not gaining speed. I know what my error was, a little too keen to get airborne with back pressure. My passenger took it well and didn’t ask to hop out. I went back uphill to the start, held the brakes a bit longer and was correctly airborne in half the distance. the rest of the flight went excellent. Nice walk into Baraba for a coffee, then a run around the mural on the silos, Manila at 1000 feet agl over Lake Keepit from one end to the other at around 700 agl and onto the farm strip. a great day and a new friend made.
  12. I think the unemployed, a friend of mine bought a new shotgun and has so far banked about 6k extra and spent nothing on going nowhere. I had to spend $4k with the accountant to get some business help, and I think we get taxed on the income, so less than a third of it lands in your hand to pay the things it was for. Almost like a save the African children campaign.
  13. Busy looking day there, was it Tower of Babel stuff on the radio?
  14. I’m glad I live in northern inland nsw. We just crossed border tonight in 1 minute with our passes and questions if we had been in Sydney or vic latel.
  15. Hi Jack, good quality diesel heaters like the dometic one are safe, their intake and exhaust are outside, only air over the head fins heats the van. fitted probably 100 of them now, I don’t like the gas ones by truma, exhaust and inlet are inside and prone to leaking if installed poorly. They do cut off f intake breathes fumes from exhaust inside the intake tube. Cheap Chinese copies should be avoided, they are poorly done with no safety features. One customers read 190c on the heating outlet when I tested out of curiosity last week. That will melt clothes, shoes etc, and burn you if not careful.
  16. It’s noticeably more taxing under The hood, I always felt exhausted after doing it. I found out my artificial horizon is a little out, if I keep level with it I end up in a slight turn which needs correction every 5 minutes.
  17. I would like to. I will work extremely hard to get a leave pass for me and the 182.
  18. Just waiting to be sucked into that Rolls Royce engine and spat out the back like a bug
  19. Extremely envious, I one day hope to have a chance to aero tour. The trip looks awesome.
  20. I can do that.?
  21. I find cheap LED’s in caravans lead to bad tv and radio interference which we don’t need in aeroplanes. Good ones swapped over fix the problem. Narva marine LED’s are nice and bright, and have aerodynamic shape for tip mounting, might be an optio.
  22. Only the operators (if RPC)
  23. One lucky flyer. Looks champion lunch and scenery. I miss WA. I would love to fly Carnarvon area, only ever low flybys in the Charger when I lived there.
  24. Maybe holidays at home will become the norm for now,Well at least until we forget how good we have it.
  25. Hi SteveD, Welcome from another 182 owner, bought mine then learnt to fly it to gain my RPL for access to controlled fields and longer trips with more pax. I love getting air time in it when Wx and work permits cheers clinton
