  1. I find cheap LED’s in caravans lead to bad tv and radio interference which we don’t need in aeroplanes. Good ones swapped over fix the problem. Narva marine LED’s are nice and bright, and have aerodynamic shape for tip mounting, might be an optio.
  2. Only the operators (if RPC)
  3. One lucky flyer. Looks champion lunch and scenery. I miss WA. I would love to fly Carnarvon area, only ever low flybys in the Charger when I lived there.
  4. Maybe holidays at home will become the norm for now,Well at least until we forget how good we have it.
  5. Hi SteveD, Welcome from another 182 owner, bought mine then learnt to fly it to gain my RPL for access to controlled fields and longer trips with more pax. I love getting air time in it when Wx and work permits cheers clinton
  6. RAA members have access for free through members portal, not sure if that gives replay for month or just the live stream from 10am EST cheers clinton
  7. Home | Paul Bennet Airshows | "The Complete Airshow Experience" I hope this works, I have never copied a link before. Not super savvy on computer, I learnt basic in 80's at school-no idea how code reads now. click on livestream and part with $10.00 and you get a digital pass with replay ability for a month after. cheers Clinton
  8. I found that on my bfr jaunt a few weeks ago I pushed the nose over instant when instructor cut power RA habit, then turned for field. Some how I find the power off landings unusually tidier than touch and go’s. Maybe because I subconsciously know I don’t have the go around to fix it. I hope if I ever need it for real that the same happens.?
  9. How is the build going Bex. Has lockdown stopped things in your part of the world?
  10. How many have seen that we have an air show this weekend, online but still going to be flying. I’m looking forward to the live version again, but will take what I can get. check out Paul Bennett Airshows for access.
  11. If only they knew the satisfaction it brings.
  12. Bookshelves mk1
  13. It’s like tweety bird if he was an aeroplane?
  14. I had a short jaunt on Sunday, wind was strong here too. It does test you out, I did this one alone and felt better after the instruction a few weeks earlier.
  15. Worst out of that is if is what happened there is a mass murderer out there in power.
  16. Leonardo summed it up best; “Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward. For there you have been, and there you will always long to return.“ if only he had an LSA. welcome back.
  17. Sometimes it is just an arrival you walk away from, usually resulting in hurt pride if anyone witnesses it.?
  18. Mate of Seller is simple answer. I did try to PM you but would not let me. it had an oops message. cheers clinton
  19. Mine was the perfect example. 264hrs TT, should be good I thought. We made 15.5hrs home with only minor problems. Training in it had the nose wheel leg mounts crack out. Whilst rectifying this found more and more bushes flogged out, and with all the bolts being cbc 8.8 grade I started replacing them with aircraft bolts in imperial size with new bushes. Also found all pivot bolt points on undercarriage and elevators out of alignment drastically. With lots of time working most have been sorted. Then one day i moved the ailerons and realised there was 1/8” play in the bushes. These are built in to a fibreglass flaperon. I have made bushes and sourced a new torque tube in 4130 as the alloy one is almost cut through from flogging. Still have to disassemble the other side and do yet. All this extra has made it a labour intensive project which has stalled. I know I need to finish and enjoy it just to get my financial input alone. I suppose I should make a list and just do one thing at a time until back together( if I don’t spot anything else).
  20. I know it means spending some money that could be tight, but 1/2 hour to an hour with an instructor might be prudent. I found it reassuring to have one next to me after 6 months since flying. Only once did he hover on the controls, but left me to it. I will feel more confident on my next outing which I will make sooner rather than later.
  21. I think the storeman at Tamworth tafe vechicle refinishing in 2000/01 when I was there was one of the pilots that bought that back. My teacher had told us a bit about it, I think his name was David.
  22. Did this one ever get airborn. It looks rather busy.
  23. That section looks aerobatic, your’e gonna need a bigger motor now.?
  24. What about the Lazair. The 2 chainsaw motors, cling wrap covering and plastic props. there is one flying in Tamworth. It’s all up weight is about the equivalent of me.
  25. Got a 1.6hr flight review in today, Beautiful weather after a front through yesterday. Felt good to be in the air again. will have to go again soon, not to lose the skills again after the long break.
