  1. At less than 2 I had a flight to hospital from a sheep station, later a 6 I got a ride in a Commanche to Clarke Island which stuck with me.From then I always remember wanting to fly. I built models( and crashed them). Then a mate took me to Cranbourne in the Tamar Valley. You could not of wiped the grin of my head with a 4 by 2 after my TIF. I used my Army reserve pay to pay for lessons in a Thruster. Then I got hitched with a girl which killed flying. 19 years later and a lot of wishing, I found out that the AUF existed in a new form and I could learn in Tamworth. After 9 months of training I got to realise a dream and be able to fly an aircraft on my own.
  2. Had a great afternoon last Saturday (14/5) did my first solo navex. Surprised myself and found everything where it should have been. Hardly a bump in the sky. I can't wait to finish servicing the Bushbaby and have it in the air again. Didn't have a camera but the views out on the Liverpool plains are great.
  3. Without getting into politics of people I don't personally know, if everyone is unhappy with the vote-why did they not make the effort to put their view forward in the form of a "no" vote. Us Aussies always seem intent on bitching and moaning about the state of affairs, without getting up and doing something about it.
  4. Hi, Has anyone out there know of where to obtain 6061 channel in 25 by 25 by 3mm and 20 by 20 by 3 mm to use on a ragwing special. It seems common to most of Roger's designs, yet seems really hard to find. I am trying to track down stuff like this before cutting up timber etc to save waste if I change planes.
  5. Just joined, I started my journey at Cranbourne(tas) at 17, took a little break and came back at 37 in Tamworth. I now have my RAA pilot certificate and are doing my Nav. I hope to be flying my Bushbaby 500 some time this year after a bit of downtime for tidying up. I have met some great people since flying and hope to continue this. Cheers.
