  1. Correct , south to the cutting at the Hume Hwy, along the range north then approach Wang YWGT from the north landing on the grass of course. True flying that started my liking for tail draggers.
  2. Grease on the tow ball might as well be lapping paste.
  3. We went for a Tiger ride some time in the eighties. The female pilot I don’t recall her name, was subbing on for her partner who had health issues. Good fun it was too.
  4. Am I being cynical in thinking that this is a good way to remove the burden of senior welfare worldwide, Also it could be creating jobs to replace older workers. I am in my seventies and feel challenged not only by the attitude of the 20/30 year olds but by many governments around the world.
  5. Yes, I do as a part of shut down.
  6. I run a battery isolator mounted under the panel. 1/4 turn to disconnect. It serves to stop any possible battery leakage as well when hangared.
  7. Amazing thread drift gents. LEDs to pool chlorinators.
  8. Typo in #4 above, should read Joyce not Jones. It may be only part of his income but big donation in my opinion. His package is not much different to many on excessive bundles.
  9. He has, about $3.3million. Easy to search. I am not an apologist for Mr A Jones.
  10. The registration now appears to be allocated to a Cirrus
  11. The Jabiru site only shows the current J series aircraft from my looking.
  12. I was driving a school bus down from Falls Creek Vic when a great tearing sound filled my ears. I thought it was an 18 wheeler locked up about to wipe us out With a flash, the F111 went up the valley at our eye level. Frightening but great to experience.
  13. Be very careful of using trico. Bad health downside from fumes.
  14. I have an Icom A16E and find it nice and clear. I don’t know what the range is transmitting. I have only used it on the ground.
  15. Some 60 years ago, while in junior high I started rebuilding motorcycle engines but I still gleaned some interesting snippets at the Jab course. If you have not had the opportunity to play with things mechanical then you need to start somewhere. I don’t think a theoretical overview is enough. If the paperwork is critical then run seminars for this but open up opportunities for inexperienced people to get some spanner time.
  16. I agree KP, I found the Jabiru course well structured and a good example of what be considered a minimum for L1 accreditation.
  17. During my engagement cannons were not plugged in until time to taxi with engines running.
  18. EAA members received a cancellation notice a couple of days ago. See post #51
  19. pmccarthy, if you log into your account or booking on the Qantas site then manage my booking you from memory , will be offered to cancel the flight.
  20. Thanks red750 and other posters. The problems I have are, the empty and MTOWs as well as the cabin dimensions. The model designation varies according to the operating country so the models and weights are a mish mash. Aircraft advertised in Australia occasionally have specific BEW and orMTOW but not generally. As I am of fair mass, these things are important if I want to carry a passenger.
  21. Hey folks, lose a little privacy and bring on easing of the Covid19 restrictions as it seems to be tied together by the PM. Sign up and then delete it if that concerns you.
  22. Unfortunately Wikipedia does not have speeds and weights for most and theJabiru site only has current aircraft POH,s that I could find. Thanks anyway.
  23. kgw your .06mm plug gap is 1/100th the correct size. A slip of the decimal point me thinks.
  24. I have noticed a number of Jabiru aircraft for sale but I cannot get specifications such as weights, speeds and dimensions for many. Does anyone know a reference to compare all Australian models? Thanks in advance.
