  1. I thought they tasted different
  2. The Beast looked at its options and wisely opted to sit put, could have been CATastrophic if it had jumped on the pilot.
  3. When solo with a Y try to jot down a few notes if your right handed.
  4. Doesn't/shouldn't a BFR include a review of each of your endorsements i.e. Prefight briefing to PAX, Radio calls and check quality of Radios TX and RX, X (fuel management, track planning (yes on paper) AP (inches of Mercury etc ) etc ............................ , HF ?? I'm trying to discuss about what can be done better within our current check system.
  5. So do some high hour pilots get complacent, is that pre-flight check just a rehearsed procedure. I hear some say RAA need to do something to address the level of incidents of which a large percentage do appear to be caused by Human error. Does there need to be some reeducation at timed intervals. Question: Did your last BFR include a Supervised Pre-flight check
  6. It would be interesting to see what percentage of serious incidents occur in School/Hire aircraft as you would expect that the majority of these users would be low hour Pilots with less experience.
  7. Mark, I noticed your detour, I figured at our age it must have been a Bladder break

  12. Winsor the Aerochute claim is for the 32 rego Aerochute. With the increasing stable of PPC's with Elliptical Chutes some of which can stall, that claim can no longer extend through the entire Group D catagory.
  13. There was a PPG Fatality at Atkinson Dam couple of years ago.
  14. Several news outlets are describing it as a Gyrocopter (Seven, Yahoo, Ten etc), so I suppose they copied each other. I have not found the police media statement yet. They usually just copy that. Here's the picture from Yahoo https://au.news.yahoo.com/qld/a/28283794/man-dies-in-gyrocopter-crash-in-qld/ Attached Files: Theodore.jpg FlyingVizsla, 9 minutes agoReport Flying Vizsla post on parallel thread Certainly looks like a 912uls powered Gyro (PPC's do not have Elevators or Rudder)
  15. The picture is a 912uls Gyro, PPC's do not have Elevators or a Rudder
  16. Yep, got one ta.
  17. Yep, got one ta.
  18. You could imagine the size of the eyeballs watching that drain getting closer.
  19. There is a difference in the skill required. I started group D and then converted to Group A at around 15hrs with Zane Tully. I can tell you its chalk and cheese. Converting from A to D would only require 5hrs max. There is a difference and hence being a different Group can have different requirements.
  20. looked a bit cool or exciting or both or not ..........................
  21. The Male involved has passed away from his injuries.
  22. More detailed report .......... http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/ultra-light-plane-crashes-water-noosa/2590012/
