  1. "..........White one over there" and so Cappy prattled on. It really is true NES readers, Cappy doesn't know milk has to come from female tigers, but Turbo just smiles and let's him go; he's not doing any harm and the millenials are repeating every word on Twitter, so it won't belong before the whole world knows it. Look what happened when someone took a photo of a message Turbo had sent to Cappy in the Spratleys all those years ago about an approaching typhoon. He'd meant to type: "URGENT STOP GLOBAL WARNING STOP TYPHOONS FREQUENT STOP", but made a simple typo in warning, and now look where we....................

He followed them for 3 days, 24 hours a day and was observing them from roadside bushes when a motorist stopped and asked him what he was doing Steve, by now with a full phone of photos knew he had a front page story and told the motorist about the tigers. “Yew from the Mainland?” came the inevitable question. When he confirmed it the Tasmania said “They’re cows” and Steve was left.

Yesterday, I was given 45 minutes whiteboard on takeoffs, circuits etc. which after 1.5 hours of training, completed those tasks to his standard.

That makes a huge difference: Both your and the instructor know what's going to happen and what is expected of you. Result over time a big saving in flight hours.

I had a 20,000 hr ex-airline retiree at one stage who just sat there saying "You're doing a great job!" as I was sliding an LSA55 out of control all over the sky. Every hour with him was wasted.

Turbo was ten year old and watching an episode of "The six million dollar man" when he thought "I could do that!" and came up with the "B" button as they call it in the Special Forces. He'd been embedded in them all, going out on active missions in mant countries on secret missions which never made the news but often wiped out three quarters of the enemy forces. A lot of the video games you see today, which parents laugh off as exaggerated are actual footage of "B" boosted missions.

I posted a link from the news. I wasn't there. If I knew more I would have posted it. It didn't seem to get much coverage. The media seem to have lost interest after so many aircraft accidents recently. Not exciting enough for them.

No, people not reporting the accidents to them.

They will always go to the scene when they can, and these days they have access to electronic emergency reports. so can write a story from the desk if it's deadline day.

There was a scuffling sound outside and Turbo jumped out and grabbed.....bull who had been listening in but was too scared to ask a question. Eventually he managed to get out "Will ADSB - 3 with a Viewpoint 4 keep you separated from other traffic if you're legally blind?" As this was a normal type of question on WF, no one batted an eye but Tubo said "Not in a Drifter because................................"

The ATSB could, should have done a quick investigation just so this accident is on the record. No need to examine the wreckage, nothing to learn there. Just the ADS-B or flarm data if any and the CTAF comms which would be recorded since Gympie has landing fees..

I understand your thoughts, but the accident involves two Sport Aviation Self-Administering Organisations.

I'd suggest that both should have addressed this by either investigating or advising why they were not investigating.

From memory, CASA gave RAA some added responsibilities in the 2010 deed of agreement and they have never been rescinded. We covered it on this site one or two years later. If someone wants the details they could search this site.

However this is an aviation site as Cappy would do well to remember, he has significantly let out the secret that he has been night flying most nights [bonus Avref].  As we know Cappy was taught to fly by Biggles, and along with Algy, Cappy learnt to formate on the red hot exhaust of Biggles on the blackest of nights. Foxhunter was too young to be taught and Ahlox, who could have, was a shirker just as he is anywhere near a fire. It all ended when one night Wing Commander Jock McInnes Macgregor Pak Poy Turbine caught them at it and the jolly old game was up.   After that Cappy never lost the taste of night flying in the ....................

Turbo, sensitive to the overwhelming vote on some forums in favour of global warming and its side benefits of EVs and the newest instruction from the UN to Ban Beef because of climate change, Turbo provided a little flag with the message "Small Size, Small CO2"  (and has kept a sign for Cappy).

Arms length all right, until it wants rego money, certificate and membership money OR it wants to change regulations, enforce regulations.  No such thing as an arms length regulator?  I would allege the structure of the organisation is incorrect and should possibly go back to what it was?

I would agree with you, and over time new blood will come in.
