    I'd like to see an Android version, that can run on an old tablet running Android 8.1.0. Can the app import .csv files? I have two logbooks in cvs format (Excel). What about ads, do you share the data with anybody?

    Don't kit builders have to get inspections done during the build process? I can't understand how a 'so badly built' aircraft can get signed off. Gee, I'll never ever fly in a home built again!

    As a kid I remember a plane flying offshore at the beach towing a banner but do not remember what the banner was about. There used to be 'sky writing' on occasions as well, it's a pity they didn't draw dick-n-balls back then, that would have been a laugh...

    It is interesting reading the various opinions of differing aircraft on this forum. When I started on Jabirus (coming from a PPL background) I found the J160 great fun to fly, and the J170's float when landing somewhat annoying. To be honest, I do not recall what effect the ugly fin had on my flying, but these days, I hardly recall what I did the previous day.

    Yikes! That's my plane! (well, used to be.) I'll be at the club later today and shall investigate this. Nope, the posted picture is a picture from the past. The plane that landed near Port Pirie a day or so ago is a J160.

    What got me interested in flying happened during a working holiday in England back in 1979 and 1980. I got a job installing and commissioning the air-conditioning system for a flight simulator building. I used to watch the simulator (as big as a caravan) thrashing about on hydraulic rams and wondered what's inside. One day I was invited in for a look and a flight! Now, it was state of the art then but nothing like what we have now. Anyway, I promised myself I'd have a shot at flying when I got back to Australia. The part of flying I really enjoyed was doing a plan and then seeing how well I flew the plan. Right up until my last flight I still used a map and compass with GPS as a backup.

    30 years ago I used a flight simulator on my home computer to practice using the VOR and NDB as it simulated those instruments very well. Also, for navigation training it could be useful for getting time, speed distance calculations etc. up to speed. As for actual flying, I have never been very impressed. I did fly a real simulator, as big as a caravan back in 1980 while working in London. That was fun.

    I would like to see some sort of 'G' meter installed with data being recorded with this system being switched on and off during a flight.

    I started flying out of Parafield in 1980 and have lived under the final leg of 21R for 35 years. There has always been idiots and whingers who complain about the noise etc. Around 1992 a guy knocked on my door and wanted me to sign a petition to get rid of Parafield airport. I told him I was a pilot and few out of Parafield regularly, the idiot abused me a buggered off. I believe Aldinga aerodrome has similar problems. People move to the country and then complain about cows mooing!!!

    When my strobe failed, I replaced it with a strobe light from a home alarm system. Worked a treat.

    Yes, getting the lock out and back into the door is a real head-bonk. Both my doors (triple lock) have had the springs replaced. It's bad design as the spring rubs on the innards and eventually wears. As for teh cost of that throttle cable, like most aircraft parts, a blatant rippoff.

    Pull the old lock to bits and I'll bet the problem is a broken spring, obtainable from Bunnings.
