    Last time I saw a supermarket chook it was beyond all pain. After it hit the prop they could have casseroled the bits.

    Big thanks to @nomadpetefor spending the morning helping with engine runs. On the first longish run the cylinder head temps did slowly come up but the oil temp stayed low. We blanked off half the oil cooler and some of the water radiator with duct tape, on that run the oil temp gauge showed movement (at least getting to the 50 degree mark). I have a list of things to correct, so will work on those before the next engine runs.

    I saw a fibreglass model speedboat hull in the tip shop a few years back, bought it and turned it into an airboat - mounted an Enya 15 with tractor prop and 2 big rudders behind it. Went like a cut cat.

    They're not cheap anywhere. But I can't imagine knocking back a ride in one.

    "in the cold light of day", I'd ask what proportion of time your passenger seat has a bum in it? I love riding my motorbike and 90%+ of the time it's solo. Looking forward to flying my plane when it's finished, and willing to bet it's similar.

    Good on them. I'd buy one if I had the dosh and the Aussie dollar was worth $2 US. Hmm, give it a few months for the second criteria.

    Holidaying in Vietnam with the family at the moment. Walking through Hoi An this morning, heard a jet and looked up expecting to see an RPT, but it was a fighter doing slow rolls. When he banked it was the unmistakable profile of a Sukhoi, but couldn't tell if it was an Su-27 or Su-30.

    Well, not ALL the problems... It ditches valves, most of the gearbox, has lower torque twist and vibration. Plus the presenter kept it interesting. Not sure how many pilots would want to fly behind a Knob though. Someone didn't do their "does this name mean something rude in English" check.

    They're just unnatural. Never seen a bird with a tail at the front.

    For example Tail end of a winged keel (ie 1.5m of 100mm uPVC filled with FCR) I made for a homemade sailboat competition last year. Whole thing has warped sideways as well as the "wings" now warped.

    PLA is extruded around 190-230 degrees (I use 200) and I've seen printed products left outside warp from normal sunlight. Definitely wouldn't be using anything made of PLA in a warm place. Even dishwasher parts at 60% infill warp in heat and pressure.
