What is the LICENCE for a 95-10 registered aircraft, to allow over-populated area flight ?.
A Hummle bird with it's 1/2 VW engine flying over Sydney Without electric anything, were does it fit into GA category.
With its 700 klm range it could be a good, if a little cramped, tourer, up & down the East coast without a care in the world, because its VH now !.

"Oh for some common sense - from the gods at CASA. Please we are not one size fits all. "
NEVER.
The lawyer's don't speak that language !.

Regulation, or Over-regulation,
"Crying foul at the regulator and blaming it for all our problems is like a kid jumping up and down crying ‘it isn’t fair’."When I SEE a good model of aircraft Tossed into a trailer to go to the Tip (recycling-dump) And a dozen more Not to be finished just because Raa And Casa ARE going to be firm on lax regs, when the same aircraft Are flying with their "Grandfather clause.Gives me a bad feeling of losing the "ULTRLIGHT AVIATION" part, from the new "Get all private single engine aircraft onto the Raa register.
Great for the ppl flyers but not for the low-powered, made in the shed flyers,
that just want to fly circuits in their "I made it my-self" plane.
STILL CRYING FOUL.

Like I said too many lawyers on the payroll.
"and spell it out simply, but they may take notice." The lawyers will laugh, like the TV add giving the profits back.

Like I've said for a long time, Five lawyers to write (a problem) and the layperson is without a clue of what they mean.
"Think in terms of strict liability offences. Don’t just accept the hype. "
Keep at it and someone will correct the Lawyer-speak.

My 10- aircraft WAS on, and later removed like all the HummelBird regoes.

Hopping you let us know what the real culprit was, after fixing it,

If you only do one side (the contaminated side) your braking Will be unequal, & that's a problem for your landings.
Strip & clean both sides then split the Contaminated Shoe onto the other wheel, it will even the braking on Both wheels. (presuming top & bottom shoes are wet( or oil opposite side if only one shoe contaminated to match wet shoe))

Hee Hee, No Battery. No fuses, Three or four wires & still looks a mess.
More plastic tubing than wire.

They will allow landing without zooming off to one side on application of brakes, some braking is better than none. LoL,
But they sometimes come good.

Check the carbies, they have a rubber/plastic blanking pug on the side, often cracked or missing.
Could be as simple as a missing plug (plastic that is).

You didn't get the $10 G Jabiru then ?. was hoping you had been the successful bidder.

If both pads are contaminated, try putting one wet-pad on the other wheel's brake, that way the total braking should even-out (one wet & one dry on both wheels).
And clean the disk/drum as well as the pads.
OR, OIL ONE PAD ON THE OTHER SIDE.LoL ( just to match the sides together)

Surly "Mayday" is not the correct call !, I've been taught it's "PAN", when not at "imminent risk to Life.
After all sailplanes do not have to carry much in the way of fuel-reserves, Lunch maybe.

There is also little "slide-on" alphabet things you put on each cable & record the combination ( AACB) to keep it all nice.

Hi Peter.
Which model of etrex is yours. A quick check of ebay shows different models.

I would take the survey.
Only THEY wouldn't allow it.
not a member any more.
SO, when is the next Organization, going to come to fruition, Maybe I;'ll sign up with them. If they have a spot for "low powered & light weight single seat aircraft".

That's a Really cheap Jabiru,
$9,990 for a repaired frame-work & the engine with new parts in a box, Pity I couldn't bid on it, but such is life,
It's the second $ 10grand Jabiru I missed out on, the 1st was in a hanger fire that scorched the top of the wings, new owner bought new wings & went flying.

"no doubt the 4 turbo props had a lot to do"
I believe that there is an extra motor in the fuselage, making it a Five motor plane
That extra motor drive a air-compressor that pumps air over the wing flaps, to combat stall when the flaps are at 90 degree.

Remove oil from brakes

If from the States, A dam site dearer than they should be, due to the excessive postage rates.
Its killing the goose that laid the golden egg.
Perhaps there's an Old fellow who can still "reline" drum-brake-shoes. Was an easy job when riveted, & not glued.
