    You realise that this RAA/CT access 'debate'... is JUST an RAA Con Job... From what I understand the training to be required for an RPC holder to get access.. IS the same as training to achieve RPL .. When a pilot gets RPL, he is then a GA pilot, who now has access to Permanent rego /No 'club' membership needed aircraft.. Most reasonable RAA aircraft all have the possibility of 'conversion to GA.. and removed from the RAA register. RPL & GA rego is then ... NO RAA Fees... Ok none of the much vaunted 'insurance' etc.. but seriously.... But at the end of it all .. NO money to RAA... Seems the majority of RAA members pay the money .. but just don't want to be involved.. (ie. the ridiculously low voting numbers) so with the (correct) increased promotion of RPL .. the Cash Cow will have 'flown' (pun intended).

    The redesign probably was with more 'normal' engines as this being military, most of the time the premise is 'fit the biggest motors you have .. while you look for bigger'

    It seems that once the trigger word 'safety' is introduced the bureaucrats have free rein to impose whatever they desire, politicians bumbling along, not willing to impose Anything (regardless of purpose or incompetence) that is associated with the 'word' safety ... and with no path or process for reduction or removal (ie ASIC)

    From what I read the requirement will be extra training for the CT endorsement.. which is 'essentially' similar to training requirements for an RPL and the same medical and aircraft requirements... so.... What am I missing here .. and why is there discussion on this failed proposal. IF You have want or need CT .. do RPL... What I would prefer is a "realistic" 700+Kg not the present GA spec requirement (LAME etc) If I am required to fly essentially a GA plane I would not be in RAA would I...

    Almost no passenger planes and I believe no commercially manufactured planes (only 'homebuilt') feature the inverted tail... Yet we see the feature on drones and UAVs regularly.
