Hmm loadmaster a local?

It would be interesting to see what sort of aircraft Airbus would come up with if they didn't have Boeing to copy from.

Feel for you, the east coast has lots of rain and frequent inclement weather. Nice to visit (at ground level) though. Not many flying days lost to weather here, just a general shortage of hours in the week.

I love the Yanks but they are, what is it - highly strung? Let's say not so laid back anymore. There is a servo not far from work that sells avgas & has done for ages, kinda expensive avgas but I'm pretty sure is isn't going into aircraft. No-one has died because they sell avgas... now who'da thunk AU would be the new land of the free?Six gas stations in N.J. allegedly sold avgas...
Well, on that one point only I guess. -
My kids have something like that for a playhouse.

Haha, you need to update your name each year.

Dazza being 38 you'll be fine mate.

Good stuff Timbgy, looks real neat!
And now RA-Aus has a president who is also a PPC'er...

Oh man, now I gotta fly a blimp? On that basis Gnu is pretty much limited to something like Canberra's hideous Skywhale:In a similar vein as dogs and owners that look the same:-

It's slightly irritating that the aircraft I hire are kinda like taxis. Well maintained but a little grubby workhorse and I keep seeing little things I would like to fix / neaten on the instrument panel etc. But then I look down and see the vinyl floor with mud from last year.... the idea of having some ownership & say on the maintenance is appealing but as other have commented probably not so economically viable unless I'm putting in a few more flight hours. It's also sweet to be able to land, park and pretty much walk away... that is worth money too as is being able to pick a different aircraft at times.
Bottom line like the condo how many hours would you realistically use it each year determines the economic viability and economics aside what the other syndicate members are like probably determines your overall satisfaction.

Sapphire I thought you were referring to the "downwind turn stall" myth, I agree when doing a teardrop turn it should ideally be into any cross-wind there may be simply to minimise the turn radius.
-
Is this* being serious or is it a bit of a spoof?

* downwind turn stall

I like the new prop and the optional 'cold weather assist' electronic ignition boost (which possibly should be standard equipment if it works as advertised). The argument against fuel injection seems a bit spurious given the engine currently doesn't have a second dual carburettor redundant fuel supply. The Jab engine would benefit a lot from injection I think, seems to work a treat for those who have done this from what I hear. But the extra cost point is valid of course.

Well I was just in Canberra last week, now it looks like I'll need to go back again.
Not so much for the simulator but to see this hideous multi-titted flying turtle, stimulator of nation wide mirth.

Now if you received two ASIC cards you could flog one on eBay right....?

Just to play devils advocate
for the moment if 503 has a fully serviceable aircraft & has sent in full payment, photos, all necessary details and forms with every 't' crossed and every 'i' dotted who is at fault here, who is failing to do the right thing?We had a situation over here where a guy was fined thousands of dollars as they tried to claim he was driving multiple times unregistered when the relevant department simply hadn't processed his payment cheque (which was sent on time but had sat on someone's desk for weeks). Needless to say the fines didn't stick. So is it reasonable to conclude the only difference here is that 503 is not dealing directly with a government department in this case? Bottom line RAA needs a bit of a whipping no? Especially for instructors and schools with training aircraft grounded, that is outrageous.

That'd be right, Adelaide is well overstaffed with useless officials.... nothing much to do but ping people on trivialities in an attempt to justify their existence.When I was working on the line in Adelaide, we were challenged EVERY night by AAL staff. -
Yes Russia today is at least visionary on taxation unlike Australia, a 13% flat income tax would be sensational here. Indeed such a measure may become essential to get the debt laden Australian economy cranking again.

Cool, I suspect large ground effect vehicles would be much more economically viable than high speed trains for longer routes. These suckers are so big even a flock of Emus wouldn't bother them.
-
Totally agree, it's really good! Commander Chris Hadfield will be missed....

Using Crapple?It's so odd that it comes up blank on my screen! -
Why 500ft agl?On 1000ft agl circuits one commences turning crosswind at 500ft agl. -

A wonderful example for us all...

Wonderful, and like us Spain needs good news and some joy right now! Thanks for posting....
"Gladly, like the heavenly bodies
Which He set on their courses
Through the splendor of the firmament;
Thus, brothers, you should run your race,
As a hero going to conquest.
You millions, I embrace you.
This kiss is for all the world!
Brothers, above the starry canopy
There must dwell a loving Father.
Do you fall in worship, you millions?
World, do you know your creator?
Seek him in the heavens;
Above the stars must He dwell."
