    Pretty hard to do that in Cue in a short period of time. All the big gold was taken many years ago but we can still find tiny pieces with the metal detector. Most people are just happy to go home with a bit of colour because it's not easy to find anywhere. These are from our trip away in May, enough to pay for the trip but it's found on our lease a long way from here. We have plenty of gold in Cue but it's deep, beyond my reach.

    No Skippy my airstrip has been put on the backburner while I try to find a tip truck to move a few hundred tonnes of dirt. It needs building up to prevent waterflow across in a couple of places. Just a metre of dirt over a couple of hundred metres works out a lot of dirt, too much to move a few hundred metres with the loader. The Cue airport is just 3km away and it's a beautiful 2km of bitumen, no tiedown facilities but if I know you're coming I'll have some concrete blocks in place with anchors to tie to. I'll have a vehicle available to get about as well, a little Merc van or perhaps my van that is a bit more accommodating with a fridge, stove, bed, 240v inverter etc. What ever you need we'll make it work. There's no fuel at the airport but we have 91 or 98 at the bowser in town.

    Yes a pretty comprehensive report however nearly everybody was forced to have the vaccine and many of us suffered immediate affects from that regardless of official figures (propaganda). I didn't spend a lot of time reading that but did they compare the brain damage to those that refused the vaccine? Sorry Skippy, I think I veered a little from the thread 😇

    WA has terrible wet and windy weather at the moment but we're expecting better weather starting in September. At least that's when I'm hoping to be able to get back into flying lessons.

    Cheap labour might not matter too much but you need a demand for high volume production. That's the main problem with producing anything in Australia, without an established export market there are not enough consumers of most items to make manufacturing viable.

    I can't see how you could keep written notes on moving aircraft? At Jandakot we've had up to eight training aircraft in the circuit at any one time but that's only on runway 6R/24L. Meanwhile 6L/24R have other traffic (often bigger and faster) arriving and leaving. When taking off and on final care must be taken to not stray into the path of aircraft on 6L/24R. I have enough to do without putting pen to paper.

    I just read AC 91-10. I was taught to do a down wind call while training at Jandakot in controlled airspace but along with aro, all his same list of calls apart from turning base. Even when given advice from the tower on other aircraft in the vicinity sometimes it was very difficult to spot them. One call seems a little slim when you're used to first contacting Jandakot Ground before start and taxiing, then changing radio frequency and making subsequent communication with the tower for the takeoff flight and landing before returning to Jandakot Ground for taxiing. I guess it's a bit hard to make multiple calls to deaf ears. When flying from Esperance, one call before commencing taxiing was all that was made before commencing circuits because there was never anybody around, however we radioed further instructions to Myrup Traffic stating our position and intentions if we left or returned to the circuit. I'm all new to flying but the more I look into it the more I see the need for all aircraft to be equipped with ADSB IN and OUT.

    Skippy, are you saying you can cruise at 130kts? (I usually flight plan at 130 knots True @ 15L/hr)

    Yes Skippy, I'm pretty sure I bought a couple of 90° hoses but I can't find the invoice. I bought four of these 25mm hoses as well. If Sandra finds the invoice I'll post the list but anything not marked for the plane has just gone into a file of assorted invoices never to be seen again.

    Easy to Google both these Gates hoses to see they are 17mm ID.

    I took Skippy's advice and went for Gates hose but I just searched automotive catalogues for the best shape. I bought a few different ones because none of mine are straight. Every hose just had to have something cut off for a perfect fit.

    A derogatory term for a LAME I believe 😄 In some slang contexts, "laim" can be an offensive term, often used to describe something as dull, uninteresting, or awkward, according to Dictionary.com. This is often a shortened and potentially derogatory form of the word "lame".

    James Fisher did respond on Thursday with quite a long voice mail. He's able to supply a pretty good package including the iLevel AP for autopilot and ADSB-IN and then a Trig transponder for ADSB-OUT. I'm not too sure how they work the government rebate. It's available for both ADSB-IN and ADSB-OUT however I don't know if you can get both, if so then I need to purchase these items separately (two invoices). There's a $5000 limit but is that per invoice/ADSB? I just paid something over $800 for instrument calibration and that would have to be done again. I was counting on filling that spare 90mm hole in the dash however neither one of these comes with and attitude indicator and artificial horizon. I was mistaken in thinking the iLevel came with this. It's the Super ECO autopilot that will work with the iLevel but seems like a double up and another $4000 and not eligible for the rebate.

    I like the price however you'd have international freight to add to that.
