  1. At Latrobe valley a couple of years back they were down to one raaus trainer for a while. Tecnam was out of action. Almost every student changed to RPL and the cost was not much more than an RPC except for ASIC card which is mandatory.
  2. The wires do run along a loom so that's something to look at. Thanks kg. Another thing I need to look up what the air gap should be for the pickup.
  3. casa introducing the class 5 online medical would have negated the need for ga pilots to convert to raaus .
  4. inductive pick up. red and black wires. the old pickup had orange and black wires. i had to change them to get the tacho to work. chris at jabiru said that might happen. no idea what gen motor was in the j160 the tacho came out of. i thought inductive are the same thing, is that correct.
  5. I have fitted a tacho from a j160 and pickup sender. It is bouncing all over the place. Wondering if anyone has experience with setting these tachs up. Apparently there are 3 configurations for different flywheels. VID20260808134212.mp4
  6. Ok. That would be a good fix
  7. I can't see how gluing balsa wood strips on a fibreglass door would look any better. At least weather strips can be easily removed or altered. Just a thought. Not having a go at nev
  8. are you talking about the kfm jabiru engine
  9. bunnings have expensive quality seal as well. ask for the submarine door seal or the space shuttle door seal for higher temp applications.
  10. thats a good idea, especially load bearing curtains, they are tough.
  11. looks like you built the hangar around the plane in the top photo
  12. the falling numbers aren't good. it will probably mean we have to pay more to keep the show going
  13. why . this normal for here. 😁
  14. its not intended as an insult. its to avoid conflict but you just won't let it go. you are always whinging about being picked on yet you think you can say whatever you like and thats ok.
  15. how is that stirring. i explained why i use the ignore button.
  16. i had to take you off ignore to see what i was missing.😁. i didn't put you on ignore to bother you. its for my benefit, to stop me reacting and letting you get under my skin. now back to ignore.
  17. Have a look at and headsets in the shop on this site. Great value and getting good reviews
  18. Sfgnome is on the money. Definitely noise cancelling headset. I have hearing loss too and my normal headset is not good but my noise cancelling set lets me hear everything.
  19. The only post I have seen you make apart from emojis. Are you nev with an alias
  20. Well why are you still here
  21. i am putting you on ignore too. i haven't got time to listen to you whining, i think you enjoy it.
  22. there you go again. give it a rest
  23. i used it again on saturday but i only flew for a short time. when i get a longer flight on it with some touch and goes i will post a screen shot.
  24. there was a 60hp v twin getting promoted a while back. i think they were canam buggy engine conversions fitted to merlin ultralights. sounded promising but haven't anything about them for a while. i reckon the old jabiru 1600 would be a good fit to a lot of small planes. pity they aren't available any more.
  25. not agreeing with you doesn't mean people don't like you. you contribute some fantastic information. especially your stories about flying in your early days and new guinea. the way you respond to posts dismissing anything you don't agree with gets people off side. i am guilty of stirring myself, i am trying to turn over a new leaf but its not easy.😁. its easy to upset others on the internet because it does not convey the emotion of a statement.
