  1. My latest update as of yesterday is, end of this month, latest middle of May, some legal points in the Legislative Instrument need to be attended to. The Course Syllabus itself has been fully signed off by CASA, and ready to go. Bookings will be taken, as soon as the CASA Legislative Instrument is finalised .
  2. Become a member of the SAAA, take your aircraft off the RAA register and go to CASA and apply for a VH experimental call sign, dust off your RPL fly away happy🤩 Contact SAAA for any other formalities, you may need to complete? If you wish to maintain your own aircraft, whether you built it or not, you do the SAAA MPC Course, qualify and take your certificate to CASA, who will give you a certificate to maintain your own aircraft, under their requirements.
  3. Right now, insurance is the least of my problem. RAAus Insurance is probably full of escape clauses, like many policies these days. Just read some Terms and conditions on them? In 30 years of my own business I never held a Public Liability Policy. I don’t insure my aircraft. I crash I will die probably, bit hard putting a claim in, from the grave 🤩
  4. Who knows what will happen? It’s come to me there has been a major upheaval in the RAAus Board allegedly, as a result of what’s going on 🤢
  5. We all understand the World is now full of Terms and Conditions, but it’s imperative that the intent and clear wording is reasonably understandable. In my case, for what RAAus want me to sign, that was not the case so I took it to my Solicitor for his interpretation, which I got. Anyone who has any doubt about anything legal, should do the same. Social Media Lawyers, will proffer all sorts of interpretations, it’s human nature. However the Court is the final arbiter in any case of law? How many people agree to sign as it is, remains to be seen? Whether RAAus will ament anything, also remains to be seen? There are certain words I would never agree to, which has been said to me in phone calls I have received. today I hope to hear from Cody Calder at RAAus and see where I go from here.
  6. My solicitor said to me being a stakeholder. I should be very worried. I think the big mistake was moving from incorporation because a lot of protections were lost when that was done.
  7. Yes, definitely, UNLESS the terms and conditions are not easily interpreted or well written. In our case, RAAus must do better, in that regard?
  8. Obviously they have no idea how to write a legibly, understandable and proper document for terms and conditions that most people should be able to easily understand what they have created is a total mess and that wasn’t my determination either. But like RAA not much seems to get done properly they probably ran through AI and thought that’ll be good enough?
  9. Well, today was Solicitor day. He asked where this document came from and was it written by the legal team of RAAus? I told him I have no knowledge of its source. He said, in his words ‘it’s a mess’. He did ask what the general consensus amongst other members was and I said I have no idea really, he simply said well you would be well advised to all team up together and not be part of it. He told me if I become involved in any dispute that these terms and conditions are part of, I will pay a lawyer a lot of money to undo a possible mess through no fault of my own. His next words were, do I have an alternative path and I said yes, and he said well you better take it, based on what I see here. Furthermore, I was told only hearsay, that some members managed to renew without signing? That RAAus later asked them to sign AFTER renewal payment was accepted? If that is the case, a legal precedent has been set? I personally think it’s a FUBAR in the making, based on phone conversations I have had, about it all. i will talk to RAAus abut it, see what they say? I guess I will be told, it’s ‘their’ way……or the Highway? So Stakeholders, make you own decisions?
  10. Fly cheaply? That ship sailed long ago? Because hourly training costs for Aircraft and Instructor are generally in excess of $300 per hour. Reason? Flying Schools want to use expensive aircraft with glass cockpits etc. An older Foxbat with 6 pack instrumentation won’t cut it anymore? Besides RAAus want to be the new GA, an oft used statement? They have forgotten WHERE they came from?
  11. Whilst I never had one blow up, they wear out to a point they just won’t run. Every product video has a certain degree of hype and even some straight out lies. but in this case the general history is portrayed, as far as i know. Again, those early days were lots of fun 🤩
  12. I watched this video this morning, the demise of an Aviation Sector I remember so well. i immediately thought of RAAus following the same path?
  13. CASA will have the Legislative Instrument relating to the SAAA Maintenance Course, ready. Completion this month. The Course Syllabus has been completed AND approved by CASA, already done.
  14. Maybe RAAus need to read this, a few important words spring to mind 👍
  15. They ditched incorporation years ago, but the members all voted to leave that vehicle and go with the current structure they have had for a long time now. Yes, that particular incident was a litany of disasters from start to finish which occurred by more than one person, unfortunately that probably still hasn’t totally ended yet but who knows where it will end up finally? Sad as what it is, a person died. what happened in that case? Cannot be undone.. And I guess the new terms and conditions are something that RAA had to implement to protect themselves but I fear the methodology and how it was written, was there a better easier way? Who knows everyone would have an opinion on that. For me, I will get a legal determination of how this affects me personally and go from there? I really don’t quite understand how an ordinary person will be able to accurately interpret those terms and conditions and maybe everyone has to satisfy their own mind and how they make a decision?
  16. Nev I hear you, but they had a protective umbrella of Incorporation? But greed and egos ended all of that 🤢
  17. CASA is a Government entity, RAA is a Company with ACN. Now IF RAA remained an Incorporated Organisation, things MAY have been different. For example I have watched Cover More Travel Insurance T & C’s go from 4 pages to now 64 pages, virtually making their insurance worthless. Hence, I don’t buy Travel Insurance anymore…….
  18. I am I interested, too. However I have already made a couple of workable plans for me, IF this does not end well 🤩
  19. Last week I got my membership renewal with the Terms and Conditions which requires signatures in 7 or so places. I called RAA to ask for an emailed copy for me to scrutinise, Cody Calder happily sent me a copy to my email. So I started to read it all, and it got way to deep for me. So I phoned my Solicitor who I have patronised for the last 40 years. He wanted a copy which I sent. Not 2 hours later his Receptionist phones and says, don’t sign it. I need to make an appointment to discuss it all, which I have now done, for 10 days time. So am wondering just what is gonna happen right now, as I also have 2 aircraft registrations due as well. Other Aviators I know and have spoken by phone, are very unhappy and say this whole thing is not even legal, but I will let my Solicitor make a determination for me. One person commented to me that he feels the document was AI generated which means that RAA could’ve done all of this in house by themselves, but who knows? I have no faith any more.……🤢
  20. Based on what I know, and a pending ATSB investigation finding, there will be something published.
  21. There are two words that summarise the reason for the crash of Greg’s aircraft, They are ‘ ignition failure’ there is some history there but I will not go into it here.
  22. RIP Greg….dealt with his antenna business for many years, starting in 1977? He started off making CB antennas, some of the best available, even back then. My business bought from him when I started, 30 years I operated for. His products were all top notch.
  23. Maybe problems of the past have been solved?
  24. I believe mandatory use of ADSB Transponders only? I am checking this further 👍
  25. I got told that our Sky Echo units may be obsolete in 18 months, due to CASA changes? Maybe we can then sell them to the U.S.?
