Mark, your work in everything you do, has been an inspiration to me. Your attention to detail in your work, has not gone unnoticed. I only wish I could live longer to learn more of your work. But alas, we all have our own rows to hoe! We can’t do or know everything, about everything, just be happy we are having fun in the directions we have chosen !🤩

That Pilot sadly, made a bad decision and allegedly died with it, his flying history preceded him? A sad ending for him and family RIP

Sadly there is more fallout to come🦠 I would allege The DPP has not ruled out taking further action against RAAus because of certain actions resulting from Coronial outcomes? The Civil action against RAAus by the Pilot’s family will fail, and in my opinion so it should. But as always court cases cost money, regardless of findings? Court is never a place to go, because it will always cost money regardless?

I would allege, RAAus went cap in hand to CASA asking for funding, and were refused?

People are being paid, no doubt some are voluntary……..many staff work from home? They could have sold the building, and leased it back as a capital fund raising exercise? Who knows? The CEO and hierarchy are well paid, no doubt. But they don’t have to account to the organisation Stakeholders (members) in the running of the company, UNLESS they choose to do so?

The building could already be sold and the members would have no idea at all, unless someone does a title search on that building in Canberra

Don't sweat it? CASA, as the overarching regulatory authority will be forced to pick up the pieces, IF that were to happen? NO ONE knows the actual financial status of our organisation, being a company, it would all be secret squirrel stuff. But they have lost thousands of members over time, from the rumouṟ, mill, if it’s true. My question from that would be, have those non-members aircraft moved to VH Experimental? OR are they flying unregistered, maybe voluntarily grounded?

Unfortunately, the brick wall, transparency of a company will never be nothing like an Incorporated organisation, where everything is laid on the table. The meetings all have minutes everything is discussed. The members are fully aware of what the Incorporated organisation is doing, or intends to do. This is not necessarily the case with our RAAus because the company will only tell you, in what it wants the members to know in, either seeking support or ideas or not doing anything. An RAAus, delegation went to Oshkosh, seeking information on MOSAIC, doubt to further their knowledge to take, to CASA in Australia to see IF there was any hope of getting it here? Furthermore, I wonder if the Oshkosh trip was done on the RAAus tab? If you want owner maintenance, you’ll have to convert to VH experimental as an SAAA member, do the MTC course and get the certificate? Take that certificate to CASA and you will be issued an authority to maintain your aircraft, whether you were the original builder or not? Go away and fly, Happy on your a RPL 🤩 That is an alternative choice if you don’t like the RAAus category?

Yes, the key reason of where it is today, was the ditching of the “incorporation” model? I suspect we have not heard the finale of that? Dare I mention court proceedings residing, in the office deep freezer?

But RAAus must product their OWN training manual, even IF they plagiarise the content from somewhere else? For their Controlled Airspace Endorsement Training?

First up RAAus are only reading THEIR room, not ours? GA may well move to MOSAIC in the US because there is more money there, than there is here? Let me say that CASA are not interested at all in MOSAIC, simply because they don’t have the staffing level and budget, to create the platform for it in Australia. CASA is currently behind on many of its projects that should have long been finalised? I don’t see them taking on anything extra in the way of workload especially what MOSAIC would present? Consider for access to controlled airspace is going to require TSO spec instruments, and appropriate endorsements, which I do not know if there is even a manual for that endorsement training by RAAus? RAAus have a lot of things to work on, including their new Online examination system for student pilots, like everything it will probably have some bugs to iron out which is understandable but all this, takes time.

Turbs, every week I speak to many people on the telephone, some within organisations, I get direct messages and all sorts of things from very knowledgeable people in Aviation. I don’t only count the forum, as a source of information, but I’ll take notice of what people tell me directly in conversation consequently, you begin to understand that some of the comments I make here are relation to information that I’ve received from people in the course of those phone conversations. Being an appointed member on one of the SAAA committees has also given me a good insight to our Aviation World.

Recreational Aviation is headed in a direction to become a clandestine hobby in many ways. ALAs will be the airstrips of choice, fly-ins will be by personal invitation, a recent Qld one saw a few unregistered aircraft turn up, ex RAAus members. As financial pressure increases by Councils/Developers? It will see people reevaluate how they structure their Aviation pursuits?

Yes, I forked out to buy 2 tubes for the main gear tyres on my Jabiru 230D. They were $245 each plus freight. i was told by a fellow Aviator, I got ripped off, under $50 each from Bunnings Aerospace? I simply said, I am not flying a freaking ride-on mower🤩

Well, I go on the phone discussions I have, things are not rosy at RAAus? BUT, I think it’s everywhere. People are suffering cost of living pressures? Some organisations are bound to lose memberships, subscriptions etc. At the end of the day, plans need to be made in tough times for organisations to keep going. Jacking up fees will only hasten their demise as people seek alternatives, or drop out all together? From the grapevine I hear, numbers of unreg aircraft flying, are increasing all the time? No current RAAus membership means, member aircraft is unregistered?
