Same with World's fastest INDIAN. Bert Munroe.   Incidently I met that Bloke at the Place where I worked in Newcastle. My boss said We aren't going to be doing much for that Bloke  Sonny. HE  wants everything done for Nothing. .  Nev

With a lot of extra stuff added to the film  that's not in the book. None the less, a very watchable and well acted film. The bike was based on a 1920 model INDIAN Scout with Mid 20s AJS ohv cylinder heads fitted and the  fork and blade connecting rods milled from Tractor axle derived steel . The Pistons he cast in aluminium alloy using the Modern 3 Piece steel  core method and that is shown in the film, very authentically. He retained the "clincher" Beaded edge tyres which were Pretty dicey, and can come off the Rims very easily.  There's a Hardware Shop on the west coast of the South Island of NZ that still exhibits a lot of his stuff, Invercargill from Memory . Ther's a 1918 Powerplus Indian same as the One I rode across Australia about 16 years ago. I built it from bits especially for the event  and everywhere I stopped at servos etc, People called it the Worlds's fastest Indian.. As well as being a reenactment of a first vehicle crossing 100 years before,  it was to support Breast and Prostate cancer. All cars and bikes had to be 1918 or earlier.  We did about 250 Km's average each day  Service your Own vehicle. Generally.   Perth to Sydney. I was one of two Vehicles that went up Victoria Pass. The other was a BSA bike with a really old chap desperate to do it the Hard way too. The alternate way was less steep it was a dirt road and the dust doesn't help those old engines  and exposed chains.. Nev

I note AOPA has a petition out to stop the re-introduction of annual registration fees for VH aircraft as announced in the budget.  For once RA-AUS doesn’t look so bad after all.

It’s one of the topics in a CASA meeting this week, they have a +$20mil black hole in their budget, due to tight fiscal allocation, from the Govt 🤢

I heard the woman running casa just got a 2 year contract for 2 million.

Another case of the fat cats looking after themselves.

Everyone is looking for money, RAAus Membership is allegedly about 6500, new fees for Flying Schools I believe? Might be a tough time ahead for Aviation?

20 million / 13,000? Active VH aircraft = $1538.00 per aircraft.  Presumably jets would pay much more than a 2 or 4 seat private aircraft.

On the aopa video the bloke said there are 9000 ga aircraft in Aus but only 4000 of them are in flying condition.  Obviously he is not concerned with large commercial fleets.
