Moneybox Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 I didn't track my whole day because it was just more of the same. The purple is my Test Flight..... and I passed. 😇 The morning started out dead calm with take-off and landing from runway 14. I got told off for not doing a flyover on my solo return from the training area. The wind was up and had reversed so I actually landed down-wind. I had been away for an hour and never checked the windsock. By the time I got to my test there was a strong varying crosswind so my landings were a little less than smooth but I think I was given a bit of a concession for the gusty conditions. Tomorrow was meant to be the Sportstar test flight and my variable pitch propeller endorsement but the weather is likely to put a stop to that. 6 1 4
Thruster88 Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Congratulations Moneybox, we have all felt your struggle with distance, instructors, aircraft, weather and other things. Well done, now just practice practice and hone those skills. 4 2

Reynard Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 I flew from the Murray River to the Hunter Valley around a week ago. The ‘green’ didn’t start until north of Wagga. Lots of crop failures in Victoria this year and a dry spring knocked yields around in parts of central western NSW. For those that know the area, north of Dubbo the crops were pretty good. i think these pics were near Cootamundra, but I wasn’t the photographer. 6 3
Blueadventures Posted November 23, 2025 Posted November 23, 2025 Enjoyed an overnighter at our favourite bbq beach site with flying friends then an early start back to Palmyra for the Mackay Aero Club bbq event. Hazy skies due to our bush fire season. IMG_7439.mov 7 3

Blueadventures Posted December 13, 2025 Posted December 13, 2025 (edited) Good to hear a few aircraft in the air today in the Pioneer Valley area West of Mackay. Jabiru, C182, two Bristelles, Savannah, Cherokee and a Nynja. Maybe a Gazelle at Turtle park? Only a couple painted on Ozrunways and Skyecho2 The sky was clear. skippydiesel Posted December 21, 2025 Posted December 21, 2025 Had to have turn around the block, 40C on the ground, 22C at 5500'. Thought it might have been a bit cooler aloft. Smooth as silk but angry looking clouds out west. A few lumps (not real turbulence) as I got down near circuit height. Unusually few aircraft in the air - Christmas shopping?? Managed a few touch & goes - all good. Bit warm, called it a day at 1.1 Hobbs😈 5 2
BrendAn Posted December 21, 2025 Posted December 21, 2025 (edited) i did 3 circuits yesterday. it was like riding a bronco. felt safe though. i used to only fly in calm conditions but now i brave a bit of weather so i don't get a big shock if i run into any. it amazes me how well the xair handles the wind considering how slow and light it is. couldn't fly today, 40mm of rain put a stop to that. Thruster88 Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 To end 2025 I got the thruster T85 single out for a fly. Compared to the RV, Beech23 or two seat thruster it seems a little tricky to fly, perhaps I just need to fly it more often. I did see that I had missed a piece in the fallow spray for the 2026 crop. 8
BrendAn Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 i spent an hour in the air on the 30th. fantastic morning but started getting bounced around in thermals as the day warmed up. photos of local wetlands and farms. looks more interesting when you're up there. 9
Blueadventures Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 (edited) Ticked off my first fly for the year with an hour out to the coast and back. Edited December 31, 2025 by Blueadventures 5 2

It looks just like the wetlands we flew over in Botswana but there we could see herds of large grazing animals, elephants, hippos, buffalo, zebras, impalas, giraffes and many more. Apart from Kangaroos we seemed to be a bit short of large plant eaters. Did the aboriginals wipe the out? 2 1

Interesting question with, I believe, much disagreement between the experts. Australia used to have some fantastic megafauna which all died out about the time that humans arrived in country. However, whether they were hunted to extinction or died as a result of the same climate variation that provided the human access bridge from Asia is not agreed. 4

It's taken with my oppo phone which is about 6 years old now. I need a phone or a gopro. Those stripes are annoying, always show up when the engine is running.😁 Edited January 3 by BrendAn 2
