    Good to hear, although it must have been a truly slow snail that had your mail..... As it was one of the few decent days for flying in weeks here in Melbourne I shoved our new rego card on our plane and went for a fly yesterday. Magic. Cheers Neil

    Hi Frank, From the meeting at Temora it was my understanding that LP/HP endorsements were being removed (along with HF and Nosewheel) , so shouldn't be an issue any more..... Cheers Neil

    Also Sunbury East onto 121.6, I believe. Makes a lot of sense. Sometimes couldn't get a broadcast in at Penfield due to others on 126.7, eg from Colac, Yarrawonga, Leongatha etc Cheers Neil

    Well I am in the fortunate position of being able to report GOOD news on the registration front. Our rego is due to expire on Oct 27th, and I received the renewal notice on Sept 26th. I sent off the renewal info with a new set of rego and warning sign photos signed & dated by Sept 27th. Yesterday (Oct 15th) I received 2 emails confirming a) the money had been taken from our account b) our rego had been renewed with no problems. So that was 2 weeks! So from our perspective well done to the RA-Aus admin staff for getting the rego renewal done promptly! Cheers Neil

    Hi HITC, I attended one of the CASA lectures about this stuff. Holders of the RPL can subsequently get a XC endorsement, same as RA-Aus certificate holders. So no problem there that I can see. They can also get a Controlled Airspace (CTA) and Controlled Aerodrome (CTR) endorsement, which we can't. To be sure, I suggest you contact CASA - the 2 guys doing the talk I attended were very happy to take questions by phone or email.     Hi Cosmick, Thanks for posting - we can all learn from your unfortunate experience. As others have said, the main thing is that you and your pax are OK, although it is obviously sad about the plane. We have toe brakes in our Gazelle, and I find them very useful - but then I have small feet, so I do not usually have a problem with inadvertently hitting the brakes! The main problem we have is no parking brake, so sloping ground or windy conditions can be interesting until a quick exit can be made from the cockpit to chock the wheels! All the best with getting back in the saddle, and I hope Mark's plane can be quickly (and not too expensively) fixed. Cheers Neil

    Hi Marty, I see you're from Tassie - but if you are ever over Melbourne way drop into Point Cook RAAF Museum and take a look at the Mosquito they are currently rebuilding (sadly not to flying condition, just for static display).     Hi Keith, I was actually quite pleasantly surprised - the wooden prop has performed OK since it was refitted. It has been a bit bumpy on the occasions I have flown since the refit, but my impression would be a slightly slower rate of climb, but in cruise it is about the same as the Bolly (pretty much the book figures). I guess a slightly different pitch/shape would be one factor..... Rgds, Neil

    Hi Keith, Sad, but true. Recently removed a 2 blade Bolly from our Gazelle and refitted the original Allsize wooden one so as to remain 24 rego compliant. Agree that something needs to be done to allow more efficient modern props to be fitted. Spoke to a number of CAR 35 engineers on the subject, but none seemed to know how to go about such things, and would have charged an arm and a leg in any case, so we gave up. Cheers Neil
