  3. Skip, I'd still suggest you have a go. I once submitted an airticle and Nick was good at suggesting edits. The article was published and he sent me a Sport Pilot Hat 😁 If each member of this forum wrote one article a year, he'd be flooded with more relevant content than he could publish.

  11. I have a set of Ians ANR headsets. They do a good job, and are much better than any of the passive sets I have. Phone connection is quick and simple - just read the instructions 🙃 Are they as good as a set of Bose A20? No. Are they good value for money Definately Yes!
  12. Skip, I'm sad that you get on here and lambast those that are busy doing other things more important to them than to spend time fixing your complaint. If ASIC is really that offensive to you, how about you do something real about it. Jerry Attrick has given you sound advice, and I agree, there are many that would support you. But, you need to lead the push, don't expect others to fix your problems for you. You've built a plane, you can do this if you set your mind to it.
  13. I don't like the system either, it's just I have other "fish to fry" that occupy my time. It's about picking the battles that I'm likely to succeed in.
  14. Skip, I don't think anyone here thinks the ASIC has any real merit, it's just the system we have. That being said, you might get more traction with the RAAus Board members rather than the CEO, they are our elected officials. The CEO is just there to implement the wishes of the Board.
  15. The interesting bit from that report is that he was informed of the hit and damage by another pilot, and still chose not to do a visual inspection😮
  16. My opinion, which is worth what you have paid for it, is that 2 of the 3 RAAus officers implicated are no longer with the organisation. To say the whole organisation is rotten is unfair. When I read the report, it shows that some staff within RAAus were questioning the processes, but were overuled by higher officers and legal counsel.
  17. That stretch of the Tulla is terrible. If you're doing 80 (which I do because I'm tight and dislike paying fines) you're the slowest one on the road by far.
  18. The Cloud up 3 person is 2kg and 35cm wider than mine, sounds pretty spacious to me.
  19. Hi Skip, this is the gear we camp with from the plane. We try to keep it light weight. Tent - 2kg Sleeping bag - 0.8kg Sleeping Mat - 1.4kg 5kg total. This is for 2 of us, the tent and mat are cosy at best, you need to be very good friends, but that helps keep warm on colder nights. Hasn't had much use lately, but was fine at Parkes last year. I'm thinking of upgrading the tent to something in the 3-3.5kg range - sheer luxury.
  20. I think they are saying if you join the circuit, then you pay a fee of some sort. Joining without PPR cops a $1500 fine. I can't see how they have a legal basis to enforce it.
