  1. It was finally nice to meet a few people over the weekend! Great to finally meet you Ian, and give thanks to your father, he was most helpful in my purchase of the One Six Right and left DVD! not to mention meeting Teenie 2! who i discovered learned to fly with the same Instructor i did many moons ago! its a small world in aviation circles!

Unfortunatly due to other commitments i couldnt hang around too long and enjy the famous coffee! (we departed around mid day saturday) oh, well, there Will be many more opportunities in the future im sure.

Once i get my new prop, i will have to come on down to my old hang out, The Oaks and put more faces to screen names!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I did.... pics to come soon..

and another thing, Arthur! how fast, or should i say Slow were you when flying above the campground on Friday evening? you were directly above me for what seamed like half an hr without moving!! would have been a great view from up there!!

even with the winds, how was the flying at narromine?? didnt seam too bumpy considering the conditions..

    Rob.

  2. Hello everyone, as some already know, i am in the market for a new Propellor, the cost of a new 3 blade Brolly is $1600, hmmm a little too steep, but i have been informed by forum members at narromine that a nice timber sweetapple prop from a sapphire would suit my aircraft perfectly, and at a very good cost as well!

but sadly Richard Sweetapple wasnt at narromine, or were any other prop manufacturers, so i was unable to get contact details to order a new prop...

so does anyone know of the contact details for Mr Sweetapple?

    Thanks in Advance...

    Rob.

  3. Thanks Arthur, thats exactly the info i was looking for, so as my vampire cruises at 93 Kts, then 6050 RPM static is a good figure to achieve! though full power take off in the manual is stated at 6300, im certain it will achieve this on the ground roll as the airspeed increases!

    thanks again.

  4. The CASA crash comic! oh, thats free, um, the RAA mag, oh, thats free also...

yep, im a tight ****! and dont regularly buy magazines..... (sad but true)

oh, though i do manage to get hold of a few month old copy of Australian Flying magazine occasionally stolen from the magazine rack at work....

  5. My father is about to retire an purchase a property Just west of Kempsey, all i have told him is it must have enough flat land for an airstrip at least 800 mtrs long! and i have given him a copy of the CASA requirements for an ALA.

as for permissions, cant help you there, but as you are not technically building a structure, then i dont think permissions will be required.

  6. I have the rotax manuals that came with the aircraft the repair manual, and operators manual, but strangely there is no reference to static RPM figures with any type of prop fitted, just run in at MAX rpm for so many minutes refer to page 32, page 32 has no reference to rpm, only the tecnical specs state MAX rpm is 6800

, but the CPS books you are talking about sound good! where can i get one?

  7. Finally got my 503 150 hr overhaul complete, and she fired up almost immediately! gave it time to warm up, and did a static test, 6050 RPM! with 3 blade 50inch 18deg pitch prop, the prop is a brolga. is this good for a static test of this engine???

before the overhaul all i could get from it was 4500 rpm!! 049_sad.gif.af5e5c0993af131d9c5bfe880fbbc2a0.gif

though, sadly during the full power static run, the aircraft moved the chocks forward slightly, uncovering some loose gravel, and i now have a good 10cent size chunk missing from the leading edge of 1 blade!!!088_censored.gif.2b71e8da9d295ba8f94b998d0f2420b4.gif088_censored.gif.03b4fab6f26a58d5cdf75ba85c450225.gif oh well

the blades were not the best condition anyway, so whats the damage these days to the wallet for a new set of blades, or would it be better to get a new assy from narromine?

  8. My theory is every single person lives in a seperate universe/dimension, as light and time are relative to the observer (each person) the faster you travel, the slower time, the less gravity you experience, the slower time is for you, and seeing as i have spent a lot more time at 900 Kmph and at 35,000 ft than most, then time for me will be just a little fraction slower than other people...

so every single person, has a different time reference to everyone else..
