Ahhhhhh the Joys of being single!!! :)
-
Thanks for that, you might have built mine! serial number 008, could the rear panel behind the seat be modified in the way of form in place seals around the access door, and other areas sealed to prevent gasses coming in? the hardest bit would be sealing the control stick assy area especially as the whole lot swings from side to side.....
the CO detector that came in the aircraft showed no sign of CO'2 but a new one has been installed..

To all those who serve, and to the mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and family who have relatives who put themselves in harms way..
Why are they selling poppies mother, selling poppies in town today?
The poppies child are flowers of love for the men who marched away.
But why have they chosen a poppy mother, why not a beautiful rose?
Because my child, men fought and died in fields where the poppies grow.
But why are the poppies so red mother, why are the poppies so red?
Red is the colour of blood, my child, the blood that our soldiers shed.
The heart of the poppy is black mother, why does it have to be black?
Black, my child, is the symbol of grief, for the men who never came back
But why, mother dear, are you crying so? Your tears are like winter rain.
My tears are for you, my child, for the world is forgetting again.
Lest we forget

As mentioned earlier by me, here are the pics of the tooling we had made to make lightning holes, and flange the edges at the same time
this is the 3 pieces together, cut a centre hole in the material the same diam as the central spigot, the black steel inner piece cuts the hole and the outer ring forms the flange..
The outer ring and flange forming section.
the small black centre piece has the cutting edge
place the job over the spigot, place the cutting piece over the spigot and metal, then place the outer ring over the whole lot, stick it in a press, then BANG! centre is cut out and the flange forms all in 1 hit..... this tool will produce a 45 deg flange.
for forming a larger radius flanged to 90 deg, we have had this punch tool made up
cut a hole in the job to sit over the lip on top of the radiusd part on the part on the left.
line up the 2 parts with the central spigot and put in a press.
or for larger diams we have had this one made.
though this entire tool is about 6 inches tall and about 5 inch wide and bloody heavy.
all these were made in house by our toolmakers using a lathe. im sure a skilled toolmaker could easily make your own set to suit whatever diam and flange shape required.

yep, according to the flight manual the aircraft is approved for canopy off flight, and talking to the previous owner, he has flown for numerous hours with the canopy off, and seeing as winter is approaching, i dont think ill be trying it any time soon.
On similar matters mentioned by Arthur. How does the Sapphire go with the problems you mentioned? of exhaust grasses entering the cockpit?
-
Minicoupe looks good! 2 tails is a must.....
then again, i am bias..
-
unfortunatly i didnt get the rego number, just this quick photo as i walked past
-
Just curious as to what its like to fly open cockpit style in a sapphire or vampire? i have flown a sapphire before but with a full canopy, and as the vampire is approved for fight with the canopy off, i am just want to know what its like to fly at 85 kts with the canopy off? is it excessively windy? will i need a helmet? or just a warm jacket?

if my knowedge of the mobile phone system and sms workings is correct, then how can you send and recieve SMS messages when no hon calls are allowed?
from what i understand is, the sms message is transmitted from your phone to the mobile phone tower server computer thingo, then the data fro the sms message is attached to the data stream on another phone conversation from the tower the recipient of the message phone is registered on

guaranteed you will never forget this day! congratulations!

Foam ribs and aluminium skins, sounds like Micheal Colomban trade marks, he designed the Cri Cri, and MC01/Bambi series of aircraft

without the experience in cloud, you will never learn its dangers... its one thing to read about the dangers, its another to actually experience the disorientation...

i had a partner and a baby on the way, rational woman, a police officer, all the $$ she earned she spent on her horses and her V8 Ute. all the $$ i earned i spend on flying.... we had a good deal...;)
we broke up.
i bought my Vampire...;)
though on reflection, i would still prefer the partner and little girl, though sadly i was not her father....... hence single.
now its just a race against time, sell my house in Syd before i get corrupted by another woman! as soon as it sells, i have told the aircraft dealer he will get a nice big cheque!;)
oh, as for the plane, its an MCR01!
