.................... also some proof here that marijuana causes paranoia

I believe this plane has 2 pilots so each pilot would be looking at the other ...................... seeing them as a 'payload'

a flying gas chamber could be problematical

seems a bit steep the charge ............................... but, this is the terror world
you'd think there'd be a better way than turning the aircraft around - like a 'refuse chute' or a 'straight jacket' ?
you'd think the young bloke would declare 'bankrupt'

...................... things might change for the better at Emerald airport ?
John
Thank you for your email (attached) sent to Mayor, xxxxxx, on 4 March 2015. Cr Maguire has asked me to respond to the concerns outlined in your email.
Emerald Airport is a class 3 security airport and therefore security requirements are controlled by the Aviation Transport Security Regulations and the security level is set by the size and volume of Regular Public Transport aircraft using the airport. These regulations are enforced through the Office of Transport Security (OTS) and compliance to the regulations are routinely audited by OTS officers.
Council recognises the issue of the verbal password system in place, but it is routinely checked and audited by OTS for enforcement. As an improvement to the security system, Council is in the process of changing the two airside access pedestrian gates to operate with swipe passes. As work is completed we will undertake the process of changing over to the new control system. This of course will require the issue of proxy cards and associated paperwork to satisfy the OTS requirements. It will mean that all card holders will require a one off application, but the system provides unlimited access through the GA pedestrian gates 24/7. Holders of the old password should receive emails discussing the changes in the next week or so.
In regard to additional GA parking for light aircraft, work is scheduled for next month and located between the hangars and runway 15/33. This is the first step in upgrades through that GA area proposed for the longer term subject to budgetary constraints. Council is also presently undertaking work on priority projects associated with airfield lighting and runway 06/25 overlay.
Hangar space is limited at Emerald Airport with one space currently available. An Expression of Interest process will be undertaken shortly to offer this spare hangar space to interested parties. In addition, an area has been identified at the airport for additional hangars should pilots be interested in constructing their own on site.
Thank you for bringing the concerns in relation to Emerald Airport to the attention of Cr Maguire, and I trust that the above information provides clarification in regard to current improvements at Emerald Airport.
Regards

if you lived downwind from a wind farm (and this could be a certain separation distance) (experienced this at a camping ground) ................ found them to be annoying at best - they seem to create a 'pulse' or a 'resonance' in the air - banging the palm of your hand on each side of your head does not alleviate the problem

Ahoy Cropmaster .................. here is the reply from the bloke in the middle (its ZK CPW) - pilot who ended up with 30K + hours !
'Hi John, Air Services had ZK-CPW in May 1969 while Agwagon ZK-CSF was repaired after an engine failure after take -off. Lovely aircraft to fly very light in the controls.
cheers
Robert'
Beaver at back is ZK CKH - cowls off - RHS bloke is the engineer ............. no doubt fixing it
Good luck with your restoration

and ................................. we all have a differing opinion but it has been proved on this site that a button that indicates dislike, or such other negative inference, will quickly transform many forum members into sword fighting rock throwers ............... and worse
such a button would have consequences way more dire than what 'post 1' will ever generate

there is always an 'area / zone' out there where a speeding ticket guarantee is assured (all over the joint - over a blind rise then down a hill etc)
if say someone was injured or property was damaged in that zone ................. it would make an interesting court case if it was proven that the police had written (or speed camera'red) hundreds (thousands) of infringement notices - but not done anything else (other than collect the money)
............ just collected the revenue but not considered how to make that particular 'zone' safer

stay at 600 kg's and dodge all the red tape I say
with each increment increase in weight, red tape will surely increase
if people insist on it (why not you'd say ......... if you fly heavier metal) < than 600 can be the ultralight class - > than 600 can be the heavylight class
but then you have 2 classes ........... more red tape

great story phil - sad ending though

other factors I know but in regards to registration .................... weight of engine (assuming this engine) ................ 163 kilos dry (info below)

Apart from issues regarding the aircraft ............. on page 30 the coroner states that RA-Aus needs to implement better systems to identify aircraft that might not fit RA-Aus rego requirements (weight etc) - seems not many people were aware that the 544 kg weight limit was exceeded (plane weighed +750 kgs) ........................... RA-Aus relied on kg weight from the registration certificate
Also RA-Aus management changed (page 31) (an allegation of change) what the RA-Aus investigator said - if RA-Aus ever edit an investigators findings - it must be noted somewhere in the RA-Aus report

whats this about Kiwi's and sheep ?
....................... and for that matter I'm pacing out the local football field tonight - sheep are currently grazing on it - but I can't imagine its 0.70 km's long
'The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field'

Kyle Comm - assuming that is $ 250 / month per space (not entire 'angar) - interested to know - thanks
(= $ 57 / week - if there is demand a hangar seems a good investment)

..... best value & $ / hr dual
by choosing $ 130 instead of $ 180 / hr dual does not mean you guaranteed of getting all the required value
I'd say the instructor / student relationship between each is probably more important than the $ number (your relationship with the instructor is more important than the other way round (not being an instructor but I guess this is true)) - the club activity can be important to some but not to others
I always have thought that when you learn - if things are not working out, it should be no big deal trying another instructor and seeing if things improve - you'll probably have a fair idea whether you getting value for money (irrespective of $) after a few hours dual (or any time really) ............ also after comparing notes with other students in other schools. You should not feel duty bound to stick with any school from go to woe

Bruce Knowles raises a point to remember ........... owners shouldn't be suggesting jab owners are the cause of engine problems because of the way they do things .......... no one can make that generalisation (some owners might do the wrong thing - but not all - as with all aircaft / mechanics)

Apart from the PIC's final decision - if fuel reserve was conservatively regulated - then all businesses would have the same cost imposed on them - the playing field would be level for all - the risk would then lessen .............. or is that to simple a solution ?
looking at the Ryanair video above - that looks like an option that might happen ?
