I don't think big superannuation is any answer ...................... a cheque does not stop mental / instability (assuming that's what occurred on MH370)

Chilling stuff - whoever the culprit ....... Does that Level of cockpit side security still exist ? - no one with knowledge can probably answer ? - but I still think there should be a mechanism to deal with megalomania int front window

2.12 is the most optimistic in that design looks like it could carry numerous passengers ............... Boeing should consider R & D for this concept

Good point facthunter. Would a glider nose pod fail at a wire fence ?think if you were in one or a pusher plane a wire fence would be something to avoid - with a tractor plane probably could be a good thing to slow you down ?

There should be an agreed understood rule that you fly right of track - though in this instance may not of helped ? - fly a mile or 5 off track - irrespective of the vertical separation thingy

its a bit like crossing the road ..................... 'the pedestrian'
sometimes traffic slows down for a pedestrian (some traffic likes to speed up - just to make it that much more exciting)
either way its a chance in 10,000,000 ? that certain traffic will deliberately try and run the pedestrian over
and probably more likely that traffic won't see the pedestrian .......... and smear 'em

Sounds like an interesting place to work Dutch !
I guess the bosses faults (assuming the boss has some) are under scrutiny by many who think they could do better - but I guess civility should always be present. Employees are any businesses best asset
what would be a few things the boss should change to get everyone smiling again ?
quote dutch
'Mr J has endured some quite frankly withering, blistering, and highly deserved criticism of the way he runs his company from us. No one has yet been asked to love it or leave. I enjoy my flying, but I think my boss is a corporate psychopath and a manipulative a***hole. Some of his management team take that a step further. I once even emailed the Group Executive (who reports directly to the CEO) and told him it was pretty rich of him to demand cultural change when he and his henchmen had been guilty of appalling behaviour towards their employees in the preceding months (I used that exact language). I was invited to a meeting with him but refused to attend'

if lets say it was a fuel fed engine fire (I'm not assuming it was) .......................... is there a fuel cut off to starve fuel ?

nice looking plane rht - they were (and probably still are) well ahead with their standard options
when they 1st came out everyone used to drool over them (and I'd say a few here probably still do)
I hope you get a logical or helpful response about what will be the proclained MTOW

done a loop in an cessna aerobat at about 1500 to 1000 feet on straight in final
I was flying - instructor took control unannounced - put pedal to metal - nose down - speed up and over we went
about a 30 year old instructor leaving for overseas and was one of his last flights (I suppose) with that particular club - not an overly bright thing to do me thought

I went there once in an ultralight a few years back - parked it for a couple of hours - did some stuff and left
There was no complexity or forms then - things have probably changed ? ........... but I'm sure I contacted Isaac Council and spoke to their airport rep

can't imagine one facet of life, that where there is money floating around; ............. in our case flying around - there isn't a gatekeeper, a money taker and a license regime (Bureaucracy). Its the simple way of greasing the wheels
think that was the reason that the guillotine was invented (wicker baskets were in common use)

these 'big birds' obviously have smoke or heat detection systems - what sort of fire suppression systems do they have ?
............... and at altitude is there any oxygen to burn ?

would they have to be 5 commercial pilots ? ............................. or would PPL's be able to handle the added responsibility of smoke coming out the exhaust ? (curious about that)

(the non medical viewpoint) there seems to be a growing opinion that there is so much technology available that some / many prescribed procedures and prescriptions may be unnecessary or harmful
its true, I watched an ABC program on it
the cure might be more harmful than the ailment (I now expect all trained medical persons to defend their position !)
................... or is this just a popular misconception ?
