  9. the memorial must surely represent the aircrew that died ? it could n't possibly represent those that perished by bombardment - the majority being civilians - this would then be a macabre memorial

There can the' also the above paragraph referring to 180 degree implies a forwards scan - you should also be aware of merging traffic from behind - they might not see you ............................. it pays to have a looksee behind as well sometimes

  17. what was the reason for the 24 cylinder Tempest ................ what was its advantage ? you could argue that a V12 spitfire was as fast - if not faster - or even say a P51 they all seem as vulnerable as each other (re coolant system) - probably how much ordinance they could carry - would of thought a P51 would be equal (or not far behind)
  18. yep - all groups of people fracture eventually (flocks of sheep do the same thing) .................. off the fracture goes and creates something better ? (without talking religion - look at all the different church denominations in any town) all groups of people have leaders (or assume they are leaders). It must be some sort of secret thing that a driven minority in a group clicks with ................. and the result are leaders filtering to the top of the group (a bad use of the word 'top') Its good to see a great leader

That seems to be ^par^ for the course gravity ?................. casa gives the airline pilot the hee bee gee bees Ive seen such a one on this site that gave fantastic insights but then left .... i presume by employee or legislative pressure .......or perhaps close legal counsel Best thing here ....... we want to hear what you got to say. .... if we are passengers in a wide body ...... and we are the only ones that can land it ...... we have to know where the ............. Im assuming you are a retired airlinre pilot ............ anyway welcome
  21. per post 8 and the stats: - 2013 to 2016 there was a steady decline in hours flown - 35,000 hours over that 4 year period - the average of hours per year between 2013 to 2016 was 222,000 hours per year - Against this trend - all of a sudden in 2017 we have 379,000 - a 70% increase on the 222,000 average above ..........a huge jump in hours flown - why such a big increase in the 2017 hours ?
  22. Always like the sign ................... 'no lines - do not overtake unless safe' there is an inference that where a road is line marked - you can overtake 'safe' or 'not safe' (disregarding no overtake lines of course)
  23. Guessing the 262 was late 1942 maybe early 1943 ? Lots of allied hardware flying around then .......... and even in 1944 numerically at a disadvantage A 262 even though technologically advanced (at speed) was like a cow sourrounded by blow flies (with all respect for the many that suffered by the 262) Could adolf saved the Reich ? ...... lets hear it kaz

Just completed 3 regional flights in NZ - ATR's turboprop - all Air NZ ................... big planes no obvious airport security for local flights (no metal detector gateways etc - non existent, no body or bag searches). ................ saw no evidence of aircraft fuselages protruding from any buildings
