  1. That is the first thing a new member notices about Ra-Aus... the website I have been seeing for more years that I can remember has not changed at all. What the hell are they doing with their time? I would have thought that having a good up to date website that is easy for visitors, new members and old to browse is sort of a no brainer for a competent management to implement??? It just stinks of stagnation... ironically when we are told the organization has grown enormously...

    Something just ain't right??????

  2. Ok... I am very new to Ra-Aus but do have to say that based upon my personal experience so far... not impressed. I won't go in to reasons but there it is.

Is it a sign of problems when an entity starts receiving requests from its members about what they are paying for only to be told "if you want it come and get it"???

I hope I can come to have a more favourable opinion of Ra-Aus in my second year of membership.

  3. Hi Ross.I had to get the Savannah thing happening as Julie froze her butt off on the way to Monto, It was cold enough on the ground, but up at 5000 feet in the back seat of a drifter in the middle of winter BRRRRRRR!!!!!! Hence the Savannah. A flight in Reg's Maroon one(Queensland colours) with cabin heat did the trick. You can imagine the main subject of conversation on the 3 and 1/2 days it took us to get back home. CABIN HEAT!!!! perhaps weve gone soft or lived in NQ for to long. May have to move further north soon!

I did the trip at ground level on my motorcycle from Mackay... I can tell you it was bloody freezing down below so can only imagine what you guys felt. Still I bet you loved every second of it as I did.

  4. I guess we could try E-mailing them Eugene, Mick or any of the others... Probably a waste of time because in my experience they don't even aren't even up to replying.

Not happy... I would like to know what happens to the more than $1.5 million dollars we give them every year.

  5. Mmmm....if you have to borrow you can't afford it ?................don't know about that, it's ok to think that way until the absolute one-time only deal of the century comes along, and you just have to have it ! I would agree that it's best not to borrow, as I had managed to do for 20 years or so. However I am dealing with a finance company now, don't like it at all, but I did get the aeroplane. If I knuckle down and pay the damn thing off in the next 12 months it will be mine !! And I didn't have to morgage against the house................024_cool.gif.7a88a3168ebd868f5549631161e2b369.gif...............maj...

    I like... there is hope!

  6. I have always found this interesting because the training sylabus puts a lot of emphasis on stalls in a climbing turn or stalls with a wing drop. The place where most come unstuck is a stall in a descending (gliding) turn but it is not a requirement for a licence. Sort of a 'we know it happens but don't go there' approach.

When the aircraft is pulling G's (usually associated with speed) the weight theoretically increases... and thus the stall speed.

Scary really... I guess by the time you feel the G's increase the aircraft is stalled... The Red Bull air race was good for seeing this in effect.
