  1. FFS this is like trying to convince my 80 year old father it’s almost impossible to use a check book to pay his bills nowadays I don’t think OZ runways get their data off chat gpt or facebook.
  2. I have never carried an ersa in the 15 years I have been flying . Someone gave me one it is about the size of both testaments of the bible . I have been using Oz runways as it is casa approved and is continually updated with live data which is probably why landing fees aren’t listed as they change fairly regularly. What cost and how regularly is the ersa issued ?
  3. As rogerc said above Landing fees on oz runways and public were allowed airside during allocated times . We paid entry to the airshow and was given a wristband to allow access airside although we were told when we bought our ticket that if we flew in it wasn’t required to purchase a ticket but we did anyway to support the event . Not sure if landing fees were charged yet but for $17 to support local regional airports to provide excellent facilities like Charleville I am happy to pay.
  4. A great day at Charleville Saturday, nice weather and a good attendance from locals and visitors. A few warbirds provided joy rides and aerobatic displays as well as a replica scale Spitfire and Cessna 185 doing some flybys . We flew in from Roma with a few of our local aero club members in a Cessna 172 and Arion Lightning and a couple other local area pilots in a AAK Hornet . It was very well organised and airside access was available for people to get close up to the aircraft. Plenty of great food and other displays from other organisations including the Army. Some training organisations were also providing TIFs for anyone interested in learning to fly . Charleville has a great airport facility and there is plenty of other attractions close by . Great to see aviation alive and thriving in western Queensland.
  5. Whenever I am flying or driving and I find an airstrip thats not on oz runways I drop a marker in case I need it in emergency or approaching bad weather etc. There is a lot of strips out there and I am sure the owner wouldn’t mind you using it in an emergency.
  6. I agree with all the above. I was having trouble hearing radio calls when I was learning to fly . I also have hearing aids but like you I rarely use them . I bought ANR Lightspeeds and can hear calls clearly now. I tried using hearing aids with them for a trial but found they didn’t improve my hearing with the ANR headset . I can also hear my engine better as the headset removes the wind noise.
  7. Dalby landing fees are displayed on Oz Runways
  8. When you replace your exhaust springs put your safety wire up the centre of the spring and squeeze a bit of the high temperature silicone down the centre of the springs . It stops the high frequency vibration from wearing spots on your springs. Since doing this I have not had to replace a spring in the last 10 years.
  9. Has anyone on this forum or know anyone that uses Starlink mini in their aircraft while airborne? I have seen a couple youtube videos from USA that you can’t use it anymore over 80 knots without now subscribing to a rather expensive plan . I was wondering if this applies to the Australian region .I am lead to believe that it is restricted due to the mini been used in drones in the current wars .I use a mini in my vehicle but I have never tried it in my aircraft.
  10. Rotax has been successfully blowing through carburettors for many years on the 914

  12. I decided yesterday to unpack and read my copy and discovered that they were addressed to members from local and near local area so my wife took them back to the post office so they can be delivered to their rightful owners.Mine just happened to be on the top of the bundle. I wonder how often this happens to other postal deliveries 🤔
  13. I have received 17 copies of the latest Sport Pilot Magazine 🤔 Christmas present from RAaus . I might give them to family for Christmas presents saved me a fortune 🤣
  14. Roma Aero club is hosting a fly in on the 9th and 10th of August with local car club’s also having a display.

  21. Hi Clayton have a look at edge performance on the web .
  22. I have owned my Sting 2006 model 912 uls for 6 years I am second owner from new . It is fast and economical to run . It has well balanced controls and has no unpleasant vices. Vne is 165knts and stalls at 35knts and I cruise at 115 to 125knts depending on power settings. Mine has an airmaster electric cs speed prop which is extremely good and combines good short take off and climb 1000+ fpm and cruises 115 at 26”map . Only minus is it runs out of back trim for landing you have to hold a little back pressure on stick but only a little pressure required and it wiggles the tail a little bit in mod turbulence. If you decide to purchase make sure its had the heavier nose wheel strut upgrade which is one of the very few ad,s and bulletins on this aircraft . Tl ultralights have a very good maintenance manual and parts manual all available on their website. Annuals are a very simple task following the manual and requires very little airframe maintenance . Hope this helps
