Whenever I am flying or driving and I find an airstrip thats not on oz runways I drop a marker in case I need it in emergency or approaching bad weather etc. There is a lot of strips out there and I am sure the owner wouldn’t mind you using it in an emergency.

I agree with all the above. I was having trouble hearing radio calls when I was learning to fly . I also have hearing aids but like you I rarely use them . I bought ANR Lightspeeds and can hear calls clearly now. I tried using hearing aids with them for a trial but found they didn’t improve my hearing with the ANR headset . I can also hear my engine better as the headset removes the wind noise.

When you replace your exhaust springs put your safety wire up the centre of the spring and squeeze a bit of the high temperature silicone down the centre of the springs . It stops the high frequency vibration from wearing spots on your springs. Since doing this I have not had to replace a spring in the last 10 years.

Has anyone on this forum or know anyone that uses Starlink mini in their aircraft while airborne? I have seen a couple youtube videos from USA that you can’t use it anymore over 80 knots without now subscribing to a rather expensive plan . I was wondering if this applies to the Australian region .I am lead to believe that it is restricted due to the mini been used in drones in the current wars .I use a mini in my vehicle but I have never tried it in my aircraft.

I decided yesterday to unpack and read my copy and discovered that they were addressed to members from local and near local area so my wife took them back to the post office so they can be delivered to their rightful owners.Mine just happened to be on the top of the bundle. I wonder how often this happens to other postal deliveries 🤔

Roma Aero club is hosting a fly in on the 9th and 10th of August with local car club’s also having a display.

My aircraft showed up on flight radar 24 the first time I used my Sky echo . I had a friend check for me. It didn’t show aircraft type but showed reg # RAAus .

Jetfix avionics in Toowoomba done mine last year . I flew down from Roma in the morning and I was home at 1 pm about $300 then .
