Bumping my post from last Saturday - red biplane.

The first one is an Avro York. The second is an Avro Lancaster B.II with Bristol Hercules engines (300 built).

A friend sent me an email with 12 warbird paintings by Nicholas Trudgian, which I have uploaded to the Gallery.

This was a trick question. The plane is a US aircraft modified and painted to look like a Val for movies and airshows. It is actually a Consolidated Vultee BT-13A. Google the rego N56478 for more.

Close enough. The Gobosh 700S is an American light-sport aircraft that was designed by Polish designer Tomasz Antoniewski as the Aero AT-3 and is marketed by Gobosh Aviation of Moline, Illinois. The 700S was introduced in 2007 and is supplied as a complete ready-to-fly-aircraft

The Aero AT-4 had been developed in parallel to the EASA CS-VLA certified Aero AT-3 in order to meet the new US Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) regulations.

The title on the image identified it as the AT-4 LSA.

Same family. On the FAA register as a Harmon Rocket II.

That's right Thruster88. Only 5 production aircraft produced, and are on the FAA register as Anderson Greenwood AND-51-A which is how I found it listed, but they are one and the same.

Apparently the car towed the aircraft 300 metres.

The aircraft has, amazingly, been reported as a Cirrus SR-22. (Not a Cessna.) Report here:

Looking at OurAirports.com, the nearest alternatives are Drouin or Leongatha, probably not much closer than Traralgon.

OurAirports also lists Ag strips and closed airports like Longwarry, Berwick and Pakenham.

Yes, the engine is a Rotec R2800. The photo was taken in the US but it is not a US design. Imported kit.
