    Depends what you have seen I guess, I have in the past gotten 1960s/1970s race cars, specials and Manx type beach buggys, often left outside for many years to find stuffed gelcoat and swelling, crumbling or powdering. Not saying any plane looked after will end up the same, just explaining where the mindset comes from for me in regards to old fiberglass. Absolutely not, there is nothing that can't mostly be replicated on a flat bench at home using stock aluminium sizes, including the wings, some minor steel parts from any local light engineering shop, and about the hardest bit would be getting a new canopy blown.

    It does look like it's as simple as he was distracted and thought the far wall was Cowan point and turned left, realised it, and tried to turn back around. You would think that so soon after lifting off a few of the Pax had videos going that will be recovered. "Sources of recorded information" is on their investigation list. Oscar would know better I guess, but sadly looks like he had the option and room to land again, then turn it around and go again?

    Get yourself up to Raytol and at least have a good look at a Morgan, he's got the Vampires there too. They are very flexible in build spec and I should have mentioned it before hence why I am mentioning it again, might be one of the most crashworthy planes around, super strong. I like the idea of the Cougar 4 seater but as a 2 seat only with a bit of baggage space, this one is Viking powered, maybe contact the owner ..

    In case you're wondering, I have ordered a bit of stuff and no luck so far. I am a bit worried now because it's almost Chinese New Year (Feb 16th) and the bar stands don't want to do anything leading up to then, and for about 2 weeks after. I have been caught out a few times with this situation. i am having a terrible time getting a new stock of 6061 sheet as well, I only want a Tonne this time around, but it's hard to get a factory to make less than 5 Tonne min order, especially just before Chinese New Year as mentioned.

    Only the World's 3rd most popular (I think, behind Cessna and Vans) light aircraft in modern times, and number one in sub 600kgs, the Zenith range. Speaking of Vans, has the OP looked at the Vans range, maybe there's something there suitable? Marilyn Manson? Ewww....

    "Subtle gains" is correct, still there has been no real ground made in terms of weight reduction, and the way that numbers of American and Chinese are spending billions on opening new factories to produce lithium batteries as we know them know now, then the presumption is their own experts also don't believe there's anything new 'just around the corner' as is oft reported.

    I have the same problem now after eating Sichuan spicy food for so many years. I'll go along with that, have tried various Indian places in different countries and always leave disappointed. By Greek food of course you mean Melbourne fish n chips! Yum! Just a plug for our close friends who run this lot.... Welcome to China Chilli This is as genuine Sichuan food as you can get. They are from my home town, the cooks are also local (they stole 5 from one 5 star Chengdu hotel!), everything that can possibly be bought from here is, condiments, spices, cat meat, cookware, furniture, etc.

    Because that's the shape that worked. When I was a kid I knew the best shape and sized stone for skipping across water without any science foundation, I just knew from throwing lots of them.

    I used to like our country shows where you would often have a guy demonstrate a boomerang, and of course whip cracking. We got the occasional plastic one for Xmas as kids. No one has mentioned that famous Australian colloquialism yet, of when you borrow something; "... and remember, it's a bloody boomerang!".

    Sadly I see some highly experienced pilots die because they simply didn't have a choice of the terrain they were flying over/had to contend with, so a chute is still the best option in that circumstance.

    Wish them luck but a craft traveling at 15kms per minute at an unknown height, and when they only think they know the possible direction, makes the chances pretty slim of knowing where it went in. Anyway, no find no fee I believe, so it's up to them.

    Take-off abandoned on Perth-bound Qantas flight Take-off abandoned on Perth-bound Qantas flight QF577 Passengers on a Perth-bound Qantas flight faced five-hour delays after the pilot abandoned take-off at the eleventh hour this afternoon. A Qantas spokesperson confirmed a steering issue on flight QF577 from Sydney to Perth resulted in the pilot abandoning take-off about 2.17pm (AET). One passenger described the plane slewing left violently, then right and then shuddering as the take-off was aborted. But fellow passenger Jeremy Jones says that description is exaggerated. “I was on board and the plane tugged left as it accelerated — certainly not violently,” he said. “It then straightened before the pilot took power off. The shuddering was the brakes being applied.

    Well so far a number of things have gone right this year, including a new Grandson, and important to you guys, another business project I have been involved in has started to come good which means I have some cash freed up and time to get back into the plane.

    Well the fat lady has sung and Toby came in 3rd, an extremely respectable result, but ... For those who don't know, Toby turned up the wrong river bed 4 or 5 days ago, and lost 50 minutes. He finished less than 30 minutes behind. Still he has sealed his place as one of the World's great Rally riders, maybe next year!
