there are quiet few GPS apps for your smart phone which will update your position in real time via the 3G networks.

no substitute for a PLB or a Spot but better than nothing if only that it gives someone searching for your a precise location, time and direction. Much more reliable than witness statements.

For me, the answer is no. The system is broken if they stay and CASA has every right to continue suspending flying rights until the system is fixed.

Funny you should mention O/S, I was in Salt lake City after going for a ride in Motionaero's Tornado 2 S, which has a 3300 pushing it along. The conversation turns to the Jab and they mention that they picked up the engine brand new but sat in it's shipping crate for 5 years. They ran it for 20 hours before the rings gave out and they needed to do a rebuild on it. Going OK for the last 400 hours. The Tornado with a 3300 was scary, too much power for such a light airframe.

Its amazing that a $300-500k short fall in revenues over the last few years went unnoticed. Its not rocket science.

I've done my bit to fix the RAA, I was the one that got the ball rolling the massive discrepancy in the RAA income that led to your President acknowledging that the RAA doesn't have any where near 13000 members but less than 10000. That's money in the bank next time the insurance bill is due.

back to Solomon's situation, young guy in school. I don't think starting a PPL is a good financial move, probably need a car and a job before you can consider that.

Jabiru never want to sell on quality, their buyers want cheap so they have to keep the site looking cheap.
