I wonder if the 1and 1/2 seater is commercially viable?Would still have the insurance cost for a two seater but due max weight and C of G issues may restrict pax weight too much depending on Pilot weight. Might help with convincing the wife/partner of the value of the recreational vehicle if it has two seats but good luck telling them they are too heavy to come for ride!!

Single seat with good baggage capacity would likely appeal to some however.

 

An analogy is a personal water craft ie jet ski, very popular in SE QLD but the majority are two seaters to give girlfriend/mum/kids a ride and then the serious fun is done single

The kit is $11.649, includes everything but your engine, prop, instruments and paint. yes the kit it includes the rivets and epoxy! Plane is 90% aluminium with a small amount of fabric.

90mph cruise on a 503 and a VNE of 150mph is an option. 750lb MTOW, 385lb dry.

The back seat is a jump seat, passenger will be sitting almost flat on the floor with no controls.

They only started updating the website when we started complaining about what a POS the old the one was. Little did we realise that they could indeed make it less functional!

My prediction is the RAA will continue to stagger from one stuff up to the next. Judging by the recent actions of Myles and Gavin nothing will change.

The exec are working on the assumption that they will probably get the boot at the meeting so having an inside man could be very beneficial to prevent any blow back if there is further problems with non-compliance with CASA.

I would never put a Jab into a Tornado, just asking for trouble.

It's a catch 22, you send your broken engine off to Bundaberg. If you disagree with them they won't fix it.

I have been tempted by them, I missed out on a factory built Tornado with a 2200, < 300 hours for USD$15k a while back.

I read that story in the ultralight newsletter. Jabiru said it was due to pre-ignition from bad fuel!

Most Australian GSM phones work on either 850 or 900Mhz which is designed for long distance, line of sight applications. 2100Mhz is designed for penetrating buildings. Sending bread crumbs over GSM would work OK as the packets are quiet small.

The constant repairs and rebuilds that a sizable numbers of owners have gone through is deal breaker for me.

My understanding of the situation Bruce, is that the CASA issue is that the errors aren't getting fixed. Steve Bell left 3 audits ago.

My PLBs have got dash mounted switches, its hard to imagine a scenario where you wouldn't hit the button if you had the opportunity.

Funny you should mention that I did cut my finger pulling the stainless steel tape off my ivoprop on Saturday. Buggered if I could remember where the band aids where.

Any idea why these PLBs aren't activating in SEQ? Relying on visual search seems inefficient.
