    I have seen it fly before, and had a good look at it in the hangar last year. Hope it flies again soon.

    CASA does not recognise the ASIC as a valid form of identification.

    My passenger door comes open a gap at the front if I increase speed after forgetting to put up the flaps. It has happened twice. Each time, I stare at the door and think "what is wrong with that door?", then I remember what causes it.

    Many GA planes used to smell like vomit back then. Not so today.

    I always wanted to fly. Failed to win a Qantas cadetship in 1968 but got a flying scholarship in 1971 that paid for half my training. Flew GA all over eastern Australia, from Tasmania to Darwin. Joined RAA (the AUF) about 1990 for fun. Gave up GA a few years ago due to increasing cost of specialist reports for medicals, but still a keen RAA flyer at age 74. Currently own a Vixxen.

    My Archer had a Mogas STC. Mogas in the USA is not the same, but my Archer didn’t know that.

    I have the same problem in my Vixxen. Had great visors in my Archer and wish I could get something similar.

    I was talked out of a stainless system on my Jag twenty years ago. I fitted a mild steel one instead and it is still going strong.

    The Texan in my picture had a canopy that opened backward. It had two latches and I was super careful. My Archer sprung open a couple of times but it has an inherently safe door. My Vixxen has gull wing doors, I wouldn’t like one to pop but it s much less scary than the Texan.

    Skippy in my post I started by agreeing with you then explained why, based on my experience, it was going to be a problem. I reckon you arced up a bit and I can't see why.

    My mother told me when she was 82 that she wished someone had told her at 70 that she was still young and could start new things. You have many years to enjoy flying if that is your dream. I am 74 and fly regularly, lots of friends are older and still fly.

    I would like to know all fees in advance. Just saying from experience, there Is a lead time to get something into the quarterly update. So if you send in a change, they will say you have missed the deadline for the next update. It ends up taking six months. You would have to somehow regulate all operators give six months notice of fee changes. They are councils and private operators. They don’t care.

    It takes six months to get an update onto ERSA. It is simply not practical to show fees. People would then be complaining that the info was out of date.
