  2. I went for a fly this morning to my Wife's family farm, please explain to me what regulations I'm in breach of. My hangar is in my backyard, the private residence I'm going to has it's own airfield.
  3. You know nothing about this crash, you don't even know what kind of aircraft it is. Was it a training flight or was it a prospective buyer or any other type of commercial activity. All legal reasons for flying even under your interpretation of the directive.
  4. Why do they add the word "Exercise" if it is not a legitimate reason to be doing it.
  5. Using your boat You can go out in your boat, to travel to and from work or home, for EXERCISE or to fish.
  6. M61A1 I would go for a ride, to go for a fly. What counts as exercise? There are a number of options other than walking, jogging, or riding a bike. Going on a solo motorcycle ride counts as exercise, according to the Queensland Health Minister's office

    Hi

Welcome, Plenty of Savannah's over here, I don't think there is any Groppo Trial's though. Kiwi
  11. "As you near the range from Clifton, dial up 121.2 on the radio and ask for the status of Amberly airspace." Amberly ATIS is on 123.3 kiwi
  12. To glide in from 10nm. I would need to be at 25000 feet...
  13. How is "Power off Pete"
  14. And you let her use the good headsets. ?
  15. Also regarding the original post..... My Ran S6S has a top mounted radiator with louvers in the top cowl, below is the carbs then the exhaust. The radiator is twice the size of the standard Rotax one but my CHT's are higher than a Savannah (as a example) so I don't believe that the location of the louvers on the top cowl work the best. I also have had issues with the carb vent location due to airflow hitting them from different locations (disturbed /turbulent airflow) which was one of the reasons I fitted a airbox. Kiwi
  16. I for one didn't take the original posters comments too seriously. While he may have had good intentions, from this and other posts he seems to lack practical knowledge about how aircraft work. (no offence intended)
  17. Hi Mark. I have sent you a private message.
  18. Most Drifters that I have seen have this type of boost pump.
  19. Mine has a alloy tube frame with centre brace and the two peice1.5 mm lexen bubbles out. The door frame is about 25mm from the opening. I know the Savannah quite well, I helped a friend build one, it now has hinged windows on the upper half that can be opened in flight. I will try and get some photos. Here is a clip of a door opening (unintentional) in flight ( not mine)
  20. I think it is caused by the shape of the fuselage in front of the doors on the Savannah. My Rans S6 also has a top hinged door with the gas strut on the rear of the door, you can open the door in flight if you slow down to 50 knots, then you can speed back up to cruise speed. Been a Drifter pilot I quite like the doors been open.
  21. Most In my experience it may be bug guts not rust. Get a blue scour pad and wd40 and try gently cleaning the marks off. Kiwi
  22. Hi All, I found Amberley ATIS on 123.3 working again, I don't know if it is here to stay...... I hope it is. Kiwi
  23. I can't leave till the Friday, back Sunday so won't have enough time to take the Drifter. Still going but in something faster..... Probably the Rans S6 or the Hilux :-D
