1. I got sent this email from John today, I dont know if he ment to send it to me, But here it is. Kiwi. -- Original Message -------- Subject: President's Resignation & withdrawal. Date: Tue, 27 Nov 2012 08:15:32 +1000 From: John McKeown <[email protected]> To: Eugene Reid <[email protected]>, Paul Middleton <[email protected]>, Michael Apps <[email protected]>, Mike Smith <[email protected]>, Gavin Thobaven <[email protected]>, Ed Herring <[email protected]>, Cliff McCann <cfinetspe.com.au>, Cliff McCann <[email protected]>, Rod Birrel <[email protected]>, David Caban <[email protected]>, Myles Breitkreutz <[email protected]>, Jim Tatlock <[email protected]> Hi all, I am sending this to each of you personally. This is not a Board email, and as such I have deleted Runciman's name. I will also copy this email, ( not the offensive resignation letter at this stage) to relevant club office bearers in my local area. Since Steve had resigned yesterday afternoon, I was going to let his numerous unsavoury statements about me in his resignation letter slide. Now he has withdrawn his resignation this morning I will take advise on whether to continue to let his libel comments slide, take this matter further legally, or release the document to the Membership as it is not on the Board forum, or marked confidential. The Members can then decide for themselves the accuracy of the Runciman statements. I have spent two weeks arguing with the reform group about the cost of a general meeting outside the February Board meeting, and asking them to think of the cost to RAA. They were starting to agree. Now Runciman calls a full Board meeting at short notice. How can I argue the case with the reform group any longer? So now there will be two expensive meetings before Christmas. I will not be attending the meeting this Friday. First on a cost benefit basis. I can see no benefit to be achieved (face to face) for the high costs involved. And second on a bad blood basis. My attendance will only inflame Runciman further, and produce no benefit to the Association. I would also like to remind you that this meeting will incur an un budgeted expense, as such it needs to be formally put up for a vote before the meeting, and before any travel expenses are actioned. 2. I fly all aircraft the same. I did my last BFR with Paul from "The Recreational Flying Company" at Gympie in a Foxbat. I nearly S*%t myself at howfar out I needed to be before turning base. (still landed halfway down the strip) Kiwi.
3. Oop's I forgot to add "And buy a Transponder" Kiwi
4. You missed my point in post#30, If someone comments on the reliability of Jabiru engines, you have 10 people agreeing with you and 10 people criticizing you. Whenever engine reliability is discussed on a thread not even related to 2 strokes, someone always questions the reliability of two strokes. ps. If I wanted to fly in controlled airspace, all I need to do is a GA BFR and renew my medical, then I can fly my certified 2 stroke Drifter anywhere you can fly your aircraft. Kiwi. (Not a "jab basher")
5. You can still fly your 2 stroke for private flying after 300 hours. (to keep yourself flying while your training fleet is getting rebuilt) Kiwi.
6. How's your fleet going ? Kiwi
7. facthunter, I think you need to edit your post. you accidentally typed "two strokes" instead of "Jabiru". Today's Two strokes are as reliable as any other type of engine. Kiwi.
8. "The Rat" missed one of the best aircraft at Narromine. I took these photos last year, It is on permanent loan to the Narromine museum by one of our fellow forum members.

What`s Happening???

Hi David. Sorry it took so long to reply as we only got back on Monday and had computer problems when we were away. (yes we had a laptop with us) The "rolled up tent" is my Baggage compartment, the tent goes between the rear set and the rear tank (a mattress is on the other side) The bag has my clothes, sleeping bag, pillow, food, metho stove and every other thing that will fit into it! (about 15kgs) It makes no deference to the handling or cruise speed of my Drifter other than climb performance (due to max all up weight) and the strange thing about it is that the inverted 582 runs cooler with the bag and fuel drums fitted, than with them off. it seems to smooth out the airflow under the wing. Also it is less bulky and weighs less than most of the people that I take flying! I will post some info on where we went and more photos soon. Kiwi

What`s Happening???

Thanks for the offer David but we are not planning to go too far east. We just got back from Narromine (by car) where they had the dedication of the Corben Super Ace which "Merc" has put on permanant loan with the Narromine Museum, they have restored it for static display and the motor runs! I will post some photos/videos when I get to another computer. Kiwi

What`s Happening???

Hi All. We left Boonah just after first light (9.10am) and had to stay below 4500ft as Amberley was active, Cunninghams Gap is not nice at this height. About 1hour 50 minutes later we were on the ground at Inglewood for a “tree break” then onto Warialda (another two hours) for another one as I had too much to drink at Inglewood. The next leg to Merc’s place near Gunnedah was just under 2hours where we set up camp for the next day or so. As you can see from the next two photos the weather turned bad (apparently) and we might be stuck here for the next few weeks. Kiwi
