  1. That is why Ozrunways uses + or - feet on their traffic. It is based on GPS height, it doesn't actually tell you their hight, only the difference between you and them.
  2. They use 1013.
  3. If it is the hour meter (sounds like it might for the idiot light) and you want to use the port for something else, this is how Rans now run the hour meter.
  4. I think he is talking about this one. But I'm thinking about a Rotax engine, not a Jabiru.

    Ch601 hds flaps

I don't think you understood my post. Lowering the trailing edge of your full span airlerons 5 degrees is the same as having 5 degrees of flaperons down. It wouldn't matter what aircraft you tried it on. It would still have the same effect. Lower stall speed and lower top speed.
  6. The lower oil pressure switch starts the Hobbs Meter on my Rans S6S. The one on the sump would definitely be temperature. I can look for the wiring diagram if you need it.
  7. In my Drifter if you adjust the airlerons down a few degrees it lowers the stall speed (and the cruise speed) on your aircraft are Ailerons set correctly? Have you thought about adding VG's ?
  8. I do a GA flight review, and they always put me under the hood for instrument flying, I believe it is compulsory. Unless your RAAus aircraft has a GA style 6 pack (DG, AH, and a Turn & Bank), or a glass cockpit, I can't see them letting you do a GA BFR in a RAAus aircraft.
  9. Also so you can reminisce about the good old days..
  10. This won't help you Skippydiesel, but for anyone reading this in SEQ......
  11. I lost half a page from the ERSA I was reading. The half that had the runway numbers and CTAF frequency.
  12. I had had my Drifter up 10,000 feet (1.894 miles) But not the time I joined the mile high club....... solo.
  13. Years ago I was flying my Drifter at my friend's place and smelt smoke, and as I quickly looked around at the engine I thought "you dickhead" I was flying over a small fire on the ground.....
  14. My RAAus CO detector sometimes goes off when taxing with a tailwind, and the door is ajar in the Cherookee (when the weather is hot), as soon as I face into wind, it goes back to 0. It has also gone off in the Rans when the doors are open while taxing. I've never tried it in the Drifter......
  15. If you want to open the doors on a Rans S6S, you slow down to 50 knots, open door, then speed back up.
  16. Not having to pay $450 -$500 every two years would be great, the wife and kids don't like it when they get left at home.....
  17. I've never been cold in a Drifter..... Ok, maybe once or twice. videoplayback.mp4
  18. Thanks for that.
  19. I know it's probably a long shot, but does anyone have a Skyfox Gazelle nose spat lying around that they want to sell? Kiwi.
  20. We have tin roofs on ours, even added a gutter to collect the rain water. 12 years and they are still in great condition.
  21. Same story for me, no wind and clear skies when I looked out the window this morning, but my quick local flight ended up been a 250 nautical mile / 2.7 hour nav in the 140 Cherokee. Then after lunch a quick flight in the Drifter, followed by some circuits in the Rans S6S.
  22. I have one of these on my Rans S6S. Seems to work well.
  23. Am I reading this correctly? Was $1200, now $1500 .
