    Or they plan to sell head gaskets, which the 912 does not have. Hence the fact that a 912 has never had a head gasket fault

    The reason for water cooled heads and not cylinders is because most of the heat is generated in the head.

    I had an interesting conversation with a bloke that knew of some poor bloke that had a blown head gasket on his Rotax 912 and was stuck in the middle of now where. My comment was that it did not happen. There has never been a recorded case of a 912 blowing a head gasket. When quizzed how I could know that I pointed out that a 912 does not have head gaskets.

    I use the headsets that came with the CT. They are not ANR but do not need to be, no I didn't try Ian's units. Can't remember the make of mine and am away at the moment so cannot check. I also have DC 13.4's Peltor's and a Bose ANR to play with but don't bother because there is no need. The CT is a bit like a fridge. It is white. Open the door the light comes on. If you are cold select more heat, if you are hot select more cool. It just quietly does it's job so no need to change anything just add fuel and service.

    Unfortunately I can't comment on the performance of any of these units but Ian can. He did all the testing and I did the flying.

    Ian did test several headsets in flight in my aircraft. Also tested phone connect capability and so on. He went to a fair bit of effort to make sure his product is up to scratch.

    If you think a Jab stall is a bit aggressive go try a Piper tomahawk, they don't call them a trauma hawk for nothing. I haven't got lots of hours on Jab's but I find it difficult to understand it going fully inverted. My experience is that they will drop a wing fairly quickly but if you step on rudder to stop the yaw all is good. Perhaps someone with heaps of time on these will chime in with more info.

    I agree Nev, most people believe what their speedo says but it rarely accurate.

    I was not picking on Toyota, I just know for a fact that Toyota's are set with a 10% error built in. Fords are set with 4%, I don't know about other makes but the Aus. rules require the speedo to not under read at all but can over read. Another part of the Aus. design rules require an accuracy of 10%.

    Roadworthy check has nothing to do with speedo accuracy. If you drive a Toyota you can almost guarantee the error will be about 10%. They are deliberately made that way.

    .....that was only for those using the normal Hillman engine, if you tried to use an engine from a Hillman Imp you were granted a medal for bravery then told to.......

    There is also a supreme court precedent that covers this. Whilst I don't remember all the details it goes something like "the use being incidental to the primary use/purpose of the property and therefore not requiring a permit". That also means by implication that commercial operations would not be legal without a planning permit. Also if the runway were to be sealed the use would no longer be incidential.

    .....the road to some unknown destination the penny dropped. DG does not even have a shire hall, a pub or even a pub dog let alone a mayor ....... separate note to turbs, you are welcome to fly in to the Darraweit Guim regional airport to have a look at this wonderful place
