FlyBoy1960 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I never mentioned anything about the oil coming with the microphone, that was your erroneous conclusion. I was attempting to give you the reasons why the cost of getting your oil was (in your opinion) expensive, and that is because it had goods that must be shipped as DG (dangerous goods). There is no mystery to this, shipping costs a lot of money, if you want to save the shipping costs go and pick it up locally. NO Australian business can afford to spend one hour at the post office with the wages we pay our staff in Australia and not expect to be compensated unless you are selling a product with thousands of percent markup. It is you that are combining 2 separate conversations into one. I recently had you blocked for several months and it was actually pleasant. I think I will return to this because you just dribble garbage and talk nonsense. NOTE: this is not a personal attack it is just my opinion only based on my conversations with the author who regardless of what the subject is needs to have the last email in any thread. I on the other hand, have only been trying to provide the author for reasons why shipping is so expensive in Australia. The author won't listen and confuses everything that is getting said.
facthunter Posted October 7 Posted October 7 He is Obsessive Compulsive and emotionually blackmails you into Posting and then proceeds to shoot you down. It's hard work and essentially Pointless. responding to Him. Nev

You are making a "personal attack" on me . On what planet is "....you just dribble garbage and talk nonsense.".. not a personal attack. I suggest you apologise for this unsubstantiated & unwarranted statement OR deliver factual instances to back up your low opinion of myself. Your last two Thread contributions suggest; a serious lack of writen comprehension and/or a "TROLL" At no time have I inferred or suggested, not paying an appropriated/fair price for a good or service and yet you insist on harking on about wages & time spent in post offices, dangerous goods, etc and other completly irrelevant comments, to what I wrote (go back & check for yourself). I stand to be corrected; Supplier of a the same good/service in Australia, operates from a "level playing field" . ie Your comments about dangerous goods, time spent in delivery applies to ALL suppliers of AeroShell oil, so a price (made up of purchase & delivery) has the same conditions applied - go with the cheapest. Why do you seem to have a problem with this? 😈

skippydiesel Posted October 7 Author Posted October 7 18 hours ago, T510 said: The block function is brilliant, it allows you to separate the wheat from the chaff and makes the whole experience a lot more enjoyable I find the above comment to be very sad. The "..wheat from the chaff..." - says much about your respect for fellow Forum members. "Blocking" can be compared with censorship, but on a personal scale. I don't use it, so dont know what impact it has on the flow of information. While I often disagree with others, I still want to read / hear their opinion, as all are thought provoking, therefore have something of value. If I find a Forum contributor to be consistently unpleasant (we all have off days) to correspond with, I just stop. Simple as that. As long as the corespondent does not stoop to personal attack and they follow the logical flow of the debate, I will continue to interact, as long as I have something to contribute. 😈 1
T510 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Don't worry Skip, I haven't blocked you... yet 😉 It's not censorship, it's not about a lack of respect, which I believe should be earned, not just given because we happen to use the same forum. I don't want to read or hear their opinions, I have determined they have nothing to add to my forum experience so they are on my block list because I don't want to waste my time with their comments. It's no different to meeting someone in real life and having no interest in building a friendship or not reading the "The Never Ending Story" thread because it doesn't appeal to you. I haven't found a negative impact on the flow of information, I communicate with people whose opinions I value and I want to communicate with , much like in the real world, and I don't communicate with people I don't. If you think that is sad you are entitled to your opinion. I worked out many years ago that I don't have time to waste on people I don't wish to interact with. 2 1 1
skippydiesel Posted October 9 Author Posted October 9 I have lived a long life (so far so good) . In my youth I had opinions like yours. With time & experience, I learned everyone has value and everyone who favours you with their opinion is to be listened to. You don't have to agree with them, just recognise in sharing their opinion, they have enhanced you knowledge None of us have a monopoly on knowledge. Just shooting the breeze with someone, willing to interact, can often deliver the direction you are looking for, even when they have no knowledge or understanding of the subject. Listening & Understanding are skills I am still working on - you might give it a go. No offence intended - you come across as someone with an incredibly closed/ridged approach to life & people. I think I will leave it at that.😈
facthunter Posted October 9 Posted October 9 What you Post and Do gives us Knowledge about you. You are fullsome with your OPINIONS, and rather condemnatory about other's opinions in general. You are Your way or NO way. Maybe you can't see it? The time I've wasted responding to your requests for Input , I will Never get Back. . I've said to Myself "Don't respond" But I weaken, when you plead for Input. . It's you that has a Pedantic, Narrow view. Nev 1

Interesting appraisal, those who actually know me know I am constantly looking to expand my knowledge/skills and experience new things. I am the opposite to you, I used to give everyone time, now I have realised that time is the most valuable commodity and refuse to waste it. There are plenty of people whose opinions I value, regardless of whether I agree with them or not, and they come from all walks of life. At the end of the day life is short, why waste time on irrelevant people. Edited October 9 by T510 1 1
440032 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 You have all forgotten to factor in the great holiday your package has on the way to you. Here's my example: 29 Nov 2024. Supplier - Bayswater (Melbourne) VIC - Window switch for the ute. Postage don't recall, maybe $10. After posting locally, it went straight by air to BOORNA WANGKINY MIA (PERTH) WA - Australia Posts $82M woke "flagship" parcel sorting facility. A week or so later made it back to the MELBOURNE AIRPORT sorting facility, halfway between where it started, to me. 11 Dec. to Bendigo facility. Thursday 12 DEC arrived. Distance as the crow flies travelled by my package over 14 days 5666km. Bayswater to me = 107km. All for $10! Now that's a great deal. Jetstar holidays couldn't match that. 3 2 1
BurnieM Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I had a pair of boots that went from the Netherlands to South Africa before arriving in Sydney 3 months later. Wrong address on the mailing label from the retailer. Luckily the packing slip had the correct address but still took 3 months. 1
facthunter Posted October 9 Posted October 9 It would have to help IF you get the Address correct. Nev
Moneybox Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Post is an essential service a should have been privatised.
facthunter Posted October 10 Posted October 10 You could also argue it shouldn't be privatised. Nev 1 1

facthunter Posted Wednesday at 06:24 AM Posted Wednesday at 06:24 AM Maybe if more Humans were involved that sort of thing would happen less often. I've got Motor cycle tires from England quicker than from across Melbourne. Had a few things get lost too. An "inside job" I reckon. Nev 3
sfGnome Posted Wednesday at 11:48 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:48 PM Then again, sometimes it all works very well. I had a box shipped from Floods in Victoria on Tuesday afternoon. It was in Sydney on Wednesday morning, and it arrived at my regional address early this morning. Come to think of it, I find that’s the norm for AusPost/StarTrack. I panic when suppliers use other couriers. 1

What irritates me is buying stuff that is in stock in Australia and then finding out it's a Chinese seller with an aus address and you end up waiting a month for it to come from china. That's a dishonest practice . 2 1
facthunter Posted Thursday at 01:34 AM Posted Thursday at 01:34 AM I've got stuff From a retailer (in Qld) that ends up Coming from their supplier. I think that's a fairly common practice and better than getting it in stock and resending it to you. Nev
