I think that's a fairly common practice and better than getting it in stock and resending it to you. Nev To advertise something as stocked in Australia and then it comes from China is dishonest 1
facthunter Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago If they are an official agent and you get the Price you accepted? I put in for An English built Ford on special and they ran out and then had to get another one for the same discount. I could be an agent for something Made anywhere. My job would be to get it to you. . I sold "built to the customers spec" Air-compressors. I didn't build them. A professional NAME Brand did. All I had to do was get Paid for what I had already Paid for. Nev 1

Then you wait a month and get every excuse under the sun about why it's taking so long. Completely different to what you are talking about. This has happened to me several times, eBay is the worst for it . 1
FlyBoy1960 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) it happens all the time on eBay and other platforms. It will tell you the items are located in Australia, normally Melbourne for some reason. It then quotes 2 or 3 day delivery times Australia wide. If you do some more digging you will see their company name risingsunxxx is based in China even though they have all of the Australian details. I have complained to eBay hundreds of times but they don't do anything because the sellers have tens of thousands of sales, some in the hundreds of thousands. They also operate several accounts under different names of the same products which are a breach of eBay's rules. They get around this by having some products advertised as the product price plus delivery, the other site will have a product price (which is more expensive) including delivery. If you add the first price together with the delivery you end up with the exact same price on the 2nd selling site. The whole system is absolutely corrupt and the only person who benefits is eBay or the other selling platform because no matter what happens they still get the commission and you have to wait months sometimes for products that were advertised as 2 or 3 day delivery. Buyer be aware! Edited 17 hours ago by FlyBoy1960 3 1
facthunter Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Yes, you have to be careful. Some of these adverts are a complete SCAM. I can't recall ever using eBay. Nev 1
kgwilson Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Most things that you buy are made in China these days. There are plenty of retailers selling on line, especially Ebay, exactly what you can buy from China direct at often less than half the price. I buy stuff through Ali Express, usually free delivery if costing more than $15.00 and identical to that purchased from an on lime Australian based retailer. Moreover their delivery service is excellent. It will be packed & shipped within 24 hours mostly & everything is tracked even things costing $5.00. The slowest part of the delivery is when the item is cleared from Australian customs. Small things are delivered by Australian Post & it often takes twice as long than from order to customs clearance. Larger things come by courier & I have had stuff from China in under 10 days from placing the order. 2 1 1
FlyBoy1960 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago don't start me on how the shipping is so cheap to send from China to Australia. It would normally cost 5 times more to send the same item from Sydney to Canberra and take probably longer 3 1

A genuine hiab kit is $15000. It worked great for a while then stopped,I sent the seller a warranty claim and they won't respond at all. I guess they may have sold thousands that failed so they probably disappear and start up under a new name. 1

My credit card is not exposed to an unknown supplier and 2. In most cases I’m covered by the PayPal guarantee. If something doesn’t show up or fails to operate as expected, then if the supplier won’t work it out PayPal can stop or reverse the payment. They’ve saved me on a few shonky deals. 1 2 1

BurnieM Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Yeah, thats just weird. They have already located it and presented it to you and the transaction fee is small. I have seen other business do these pointless things and I just walk away. Thankfully I am seeing less businesses doing this in the last year. 2
