Testing my air brake🤪 Also needed an image of the mits with the fingers exposed to operate the brake, push radio knobs and adjust the mini ipad screen, they are very practical and also warm.

Sooooo sexy too😈

Had 3 nice spring weather flights in the Nynja over the past 5 days. Nigel from Victoria who built and flys a Nynja, my daughter and today with my wife to see whales. Saw 6 all up, 5 in one pod (3 adults and 2 young) and a single one. Scenery of today’s flight.

(I need to spend less time doing aerobatics and more time editing the reverse shots so they are right way up:)

Attended the Mackay Aero Club poker run in the warming up spring sky. Gusty wind and the hilly area made for some turbulent periods. Everyone made it around without incident. Great to catch-up with friends. Thanks to the organisers and the four host airfields and their ground people. Smiles all round and a nice bbq to finish of the day.

Nice fly today and a maintenance job on the list, to fabricate a new upper radiator bracket. Found it during the di as I always give the coolers a push with finger to see if any movement.  Have a trip planned middle of next month so nice to find now.  Making a slightly different design this time, crack started at hole for safety wire by the look of things. Otherwise going good.

Changed out the original 20-120Kts ASI for a UMA 20-140 instrument and placed the colour speed rings for the now 132kt redline for VNE as part of finishing the 600 kg upgrade,  Did a fly and tested stall etc.  All good.

Those flaps appear to be very effective. Does it really stall at zero airspeed? 😃

It is flys bit like a drone, but thanks and yes need to trim to 37 kts when next out there, just had to double check the speed data.  👍

37 Knots seems like a high stall speed for this class of aircraft. The only performance spec's I could find said 37 mph (32 Knots) ????

Still seems high. In my past - ATEC Zephyr/Fatea sub 30 knot stalls,  with high speed Cruise of 125-135 knots.

From its appearance (STOLish) & Cruise speed, I would have expected well below 130 knots for the Nynja.

Thanks Gary.

Old mate Skip is on another of usual annoying rants about his old Zephur and making negative comments about other aircraft makes, must be an owner operator,  I see the 122 at 450kg MTOW is 41 Kts no flap and 35 Kts with flaps extended.  Therefore the Nynja needing 2 kts more speed with flaps deployed and carrying 150Kg more (+33.33% more) is a more superior and more versatile aircraft.

Why can't I or anyone else, ask a few simple questions, without the above nastiness??

"......making negative comments about other aircraft makes.."

This is your jaded perception at play.

I made no negative comments - Made an observation about the aircrafts appearance (STOLish),  that I think many would agree with. In my limited understanding, Its stall speed (37 knots) does not "mesh" with the appearnce.

".....another of usual annoying rants about his old Zephyr..."

Show me where I ranted? I illustrated where my question was comming from, using my experience of another aircrafts performance .

FYI:

My RAA Class aircraft experince is limited  to ATEC Zephyr (owned for 10-12 years approximately 500 hrs), ATEC Faeta about 4 hrs, Jabiru x 2 ? about 4 hrs, Sonex 3 years 260 hrs.

Given the time & hrs in my ATEC what other aircraft would you have me compare with??

Blueadventures - If you cant avoid making unsubstantiated personal observations (TROLLING) about a Forum contributor , I suggest you stay off this otherwise convivial Forum.

Mike, is the blue line your Designated Minimum Manoeuvring Speed (DMMS)?

Just for me; a reminder prompt of best glide speed 58 kts.  Blue line is a twin engine thing but won't hurt for me as a prompt.

Yeah, good idea.  And it's also close to the, so called, DMMS (clean stall X 1.4) if you buy into that idea.

Stall speed  is Not a constant. Wt and C of G make a big difference., Nev

True.  But the DMMS crowd, I guess, would stress 'designated'; that is, that the number is less to do with aeronautics than with HF - airspeed awareness when it matters most.  But there are objectors to the idea as Dan Gryder points out in this video (in the first 3 minutes):

The "Stall speed" is done At Max AUW and full forward C of G. STALL is actually related to angle of attack of the wing. Nev

Yes, and the reason those coloured ASI arcs are rough guides only.  Useful though, for all that (absent AoA).
