    30 years ago I learnt with one GA club and had various instructors - it was always enjoyable and the chief instructor always looked over the other instructors - they did not send me solo till I had 17 + hours ! and I did not care - I trusted the decisions that the instructors had to make Probably 8 years ago I started ultra lights and they sent me solo after 3 + hours (without looking at the log) Like Motz implies ? - I think us mere pilots should always trust & appreciate our interaction with our instructors - if you don't ........................... go find another - otherwise you don't get your monies worth ...................... and the skills you are supposed to be learning will suffer

    DWF the Tecnam Bravo operating manual is easy to locate on the web ? ........... and down load if you pm me (I don't know how that is done) I can supply you a copy ? all the speeds are there ................. clean climb out is 68 kts - cruise climb 75 - 80 kts ............. etc I'm not an instructor so I'm not saying any more

    thanks FH - in your above post you have given some small insights to a 'non-instructor' instruction is important - it would be good to get some insights into instruction issues - might not happen ............ but it would be good instructors might never contribute, or as tplanner suggests .......................... information could spiral into a seething morass of opinion

    The thread should be closed - just for the instructors Having said that - flying is gas, strip, plane and instuctors - instructurs are a very important part of the whole thing It would be interesting & informative for us non instructurs to have 'read' access only - to see what instructors issues are Having said that - would instructors post threads if they can be viewed by all and sundry ?

    Engine stoppage due to carb-mount rubber failure or leakage (Maj (or someone)) The 750 hr 912 we have has had the carbs off and the rubbers appear sound, pliable and sealed - irrespective of that should they still be replaced ? thanks

Regarding your crash sequence I wonder if the stewards call button was operational at the end - you could then merely alert the stewardess that there was sand all over the airline food and could they please supply more

    good reminder Nunans I also fly ULTRALIGHTS and don't wish that I'd like to be flying a bonanza (or a turbine) - mind you if you do fly an expensive bird ............................... nothing wrong with that either [My solisitor reminds all persons reading this message that flying is inherently costly (including ultralights - particularly insured ones) and that any inference that there is cheaper form of flying (compared to another (or any other) form of flying) is based purely on comparative personal relative base costs bases and socio ecomnomic factors]

    Bubble boy Allow some time for the drive to Blenheim ................ lots to see - lots of sheep (you can chase them in the paddocks ......................................... they don't mind ) Might see you there - I can stay with dear old Ma Looks like you can fly Brisbane to Blenheim (via Auckland) return for $ 850 Is that DH Mosquito going to be there ? - that would be a decider for me

    if you are by an external window ............... try and not do this subconciously - but look outside very quickly ............... they are sometimes there

    Bubbles also ............ fly to wellington - good spot - direct flight to woodborne ? (blenheim) takes about 20 minutes - then about 10 minutes by car to omaka (classic fighters) buy a pushbike and you'll be the fastest traveller to the airshow also you can walk the river and jump and few fences - its a bit shorter accommodation in Blenheim at easter ? don't know

    Good work Viper (the aircraft insurance Co might not be pleased but any life insurance Co will have a smile from ear to ear) How did the inside floor of the cock pit hold up to the landing ..................... was there much / any internal deformation - was there any obvious failure of the frame in the cockpit area ?
