Sending info to CASA is taking action. Doh.How very interesting. Since the RAA is not the authority for the TCDS on Jabiru engines, unless Jabiru is producing engines that are not in compliance with the TCDS, RAA has no authority to 'take action behind the scenes' other than refer any information that it has on breaches of the TCDS to CASA. Any 'action' to be taken has to be taken by CASA. This can easily be confirmed by a discussion with the Tech. Manager who is entirely aware of the limitations on the possibility of RAA 'taking action' and the level of authority that the RAA has in regard to 'action'. CASA will no doubt operate on the basis of compliance with the regime required for the issue of a TCDS and any evidence of failure to comply with that TCDS.I'm calling bovine excrement, Merv, on your and Maj. Millard's comments to the contrary. Support your contention with something more believable than an assertion that you have an unnamed 'source'. -
You need to examine your own motives mate rather than question someone else's.

I worked for a Jeep/Toyota/Hyundai dealer once...No Joking...we went out of our way NOT to sell anyone a Jeep...it wasn't worth the trouble that was sure to come....
I personally still like them.

Maybe they were counting the temporary memberships for the "TIFs" ?

I think you will find the insurance is a secondary concern.

They all are supposed to be club structures according to my reading...Some FTF's are non for profit clubs, with training ability....Join the club, learn with the club, fly with the club and hopefully donate time and effort to uphold the club, that can supply you a mega-buck aircraft at just an hourly rate... -
Our FTFs in fact ARE profit making businesses.

I first noticed about 2 years ago now that the CFI board had created this problem...
I think what you are seeing is Ra Aus extracating itself from the commercial operations it was never designed or intended to encompass.

Cool Dex...I still wonder though...I am seeing an awful lot of paper fixes recently...Just one had a crash, and was found to be unroadworthy; the unroadworthy factor as far as I'm aware has not been announced as the cause of the crash, however ALL the NSW trucks of Cootes Transport were checked, and those with roadworthy issues grounded before being allowed back on the road. Before that was completed a combined task force of RTA NSW officers who travelled to Victoria, and Vicroads checked all the Victorian trucks of Cootes Transport, and grounded any with roadworthy issues until they were fixed.I'd call that well controlled. If RAA did the same there would be Hissy Fits from Broome to Bessietown

Bring on Parecon.
You can't keep patching a faulty design indefinitely.

How is the Verner engine performing?Mine is a wire braced ex-503, ex- 582, currently Verner powered one. -
I love em. The little Champ seems like a wonderful aircraft if a little weight limited.
I guess the Champ is to the Cub what Coke is to Pepsi...interesting that Australia chose to drink Coke cause their can't be too many Champs Downunder.

Just search the Ra Aus sight or call them...they must have accurate records of who is qualified for what in North Qld by now surely...

Someone please tell me they aren't flying tourists in Tiger Moths with Cassein glued wings.

And Turbo wasn't refering to Maj Millard either I believe...A certain lightwing flyer is not a instructor I am pretty sure -
It did look to me like it stalled and dropped in on the left... Apparently she was a feisty girl and much loved by all who rode her...did you see the pilot give her an affectionate pat?

I believe the mining "boom" held things not related to mining up out west... Hopefully now the mines are in production things will settle down and a "normal" economy can resume...and with it the factory...

All aircraft have limitations Turbo...in the airframe dept the Jabirus no more than some many other common aircraft...Some are not fine FH, as evidenced by upgrade kits now fitted. It's important to get away from generalities, if we are to get this particular incident into perspective and find out the real cause rather than just sh$tcan the pilot. -
Some of you may have seen this before...if not here is 8mm footage of an Auster(anyone know what model?)towing a Kooka and Mucha many moons ago at The Isa...

I imagine the vast majority would still be perfectly airworthy...too tough.

I bought a Jeep!

The Jeep Renegade is a well known Gay Icon!!!!???
Ironically the Renegade is the first vehicle I remember going bush bashing in as a passenger when I was a little kid. My Mum sold em too back in the days of "Wood ducks" ...
I could swear back then they had a V8 and a handle in the glove box to lock the diff...
These days they don't seem so tough.
