Bit of a video of when I went flying from George Town, Tassie recently. Nice day, and a nice spot.

No problems Jack! Well I've advanced a little since I started I suppose... have approx 150hrs now on about 8 different aircraft. Just doing the finishing touches to my PPL now (well when I can... been a dragged out process 'cause I keep going places)Thanks Tomo. What stage are you up to with your flying?Friend of mine has a Savage Cub, and it's one heck of a fun plane to fly... It's a good plane to get your license in I would think... get some great skills developed right from the start.
Keep it up!

Go for it SAJflyer! The change will be an eye opener if you've never flown anything else before.
I think you'll find it very easy to adapt to. Just get used to seeing higher RPM!! Rotax rev lots more than the Jabs!

Welcome mate, way to go! Nice amount of hours at such an age is great!
I'm only a young fella too (19), so it's good to see others enjoying the sport

-
Ouch! that would give you a surprise!

Yes, was an awesome day yesterday!!! I had the privilege to be working almost at the end of the airfield over the street at a business on their forklifts. It was a bit tricky to not get side tracked looking at the sky........

Good to pop over during lunch though! Did you get a photo of me in the back of the Dragonfly eating my chips DD? That would have made an amusing shot I was thinking later

The joy you see on their faces is worth doing even if it's for free.
-
Good stuff Jimmy, I agree with you, they are a pretty decent aeroplane for their price too!
-
Hey great stuff Pete! I like Kilcoy, nice little spot on the end of the Lake. Was it the first time you've landed on a 'unusual' terrain airstrip? (ie. up/down hill)

Was flying circuits at Archerfield the other day, I was using 10R and another aircraft was on 10L - parallel runways obviously. Thought it kinda cool when on final I was exactly abeam another Cessna on the other runway, and we pretty much landed simultaneously. Was quite a distance, but my first experience of having something like that happen, I thought it cool! :thumb_up:Was on a commercial flight which landed at San Francisco airport once simultaneously & exactly in line with with another aircraft on the parallel runway,-

Instead of having pages of it all again... I'd like to refer you over here http://www.recreationalflying.com/threads/advertising-your-flight.16771/ ... scroll down a bit and you'll see where it was discussed a fair bit last time. I think there may be some answers there for you.Can somebody tell me if I am allowed to "hire" my aircraft out to other pilots to fly as long as it is not "commercially"? Or........what if somebody "hire's" the aircraft, but I fly them from A to B etc? Thoughts? -
Brilliant! I'd give it a gooooo

I usually just ring up, takes but all of 20 seconds

Certainly, it makes it quite affordable flying if going halves or whatever. But the point I was making is - it's all good to say you 'must' cost share or else. But it's not always relevant, use a bit of common sense, and just don't be commercial! My dictionary states that as: making or intended to make a profitSo if you have a paying passenger, won't you fly more? -
Use a bit of common sense too, I reckon... basically they don't want you being commercial, in other words, you get a benefit out of others, financially, hourly etc...
I fly family and close friends around for no cost, and no, I'm not doing anything illegal by doing that! And no I'm not cost sharing there, am I?...
-
No it's not as far as I know...
Just make a user way point with the co-ordinates from the ERSA.

Well done Peter!
Isn't it funny how the radio can be such a hard and confusing device early on in the piece - trying to put all the information together... uses a lot of brain power! I can admit to that for sure in the early days.
(getting used to it a bit now though, particularly now I'm flying out of Archerfield and into places like the Gold Coast
)Once again, well done! And it all comes together much quicker now I reckon, time to knock off the 5hrs solo!
-
Well done Mike! That's awesome!!
-
Sorry to be a pain DD, but Brett's nice little Jab is a J120 :)

Indeedy!
Always good fun to watch... or be a part of
