Great to hear Scott!! So wanted to go, but had to resort to being texted throughout the day with little snippets from a friend.

Nice, very very nice Slarti.

Fantastic weather this morning! Blue sky, gentle breeze... couldn't have asked for a better morning.
But.... guess what? My fears eventuated and I'm booked out for today now! Oh well, first Inglewood I've missed since learning to fly... hmm, not cool.

Hope those flying in will have a great time.

Indeed it does... if you need a driver to fly you to Caboolture... problem is I can only do RAA at the moment on my own...

Hey! he flies aeroplanes!! I'm watching it just to see if they depart using a personal jet...And if i hear about that wedding anymore i will kill someone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you hear about the wedding Chafs?

Speaking of training the media... friend of mine is doing journo at Uni... she only knows the right stuff - I make sure!

-
You sure? Personally I just don't think he had the guts. Why did the skeleton stop going to the dance hall?..Because he had noBODY to take with him.. -
Not sure if I'll be there yet, but hope to be... if I do come... you'll most likely see me one way or the other, or I'll come looking for you!!
It's usually a great time. Obviously weather is a big issue at the moment too!

Hmm there are so many!!
First solo would have to be 'upthere!!'

Flying in PNG (not that I was pilot, but it was still amazing!)
Flying my first ever 95:10 rag and tube primitive ultralight with no instrumentation and a snowmobile engine... that was certainly a highlight!! (single seat so learn as you go)
First time into a large airport was a blast... you feel very poor with jets all around you and all you're in is a 172!

Oh there are so many..... each hour of my flying is an experience, well if it isn't I'm not flying hard enough

Helicopter?

-
If it isn't work, it's rain....

I guess it's more frustrating because at home on the Downs half the time its great flying weather, but head east of the ranges and its soup! And that's where I need to fly at the moment.
I tell you what, patience is hard at times!

Ps. Did you hear about the doctor that quit?
-
It was because he had no patients.

Hey Darky and Cam, wouldn't mind seeing your layout too! Only if you get the chance - you can email it to: tomo @ recreationalflying . net
Also putting contact on your charts so you can write over it with fine marker (of different colours) is real handy when doing intense CTA stuff. (I've found)

Thanks everyone!
Steve... go for it mate! It's a great little place, and quite affordable to get there too. Hire a car and you're set. If I can do it, anyone could!!

I bought one of these little babies about a month ago... and it's the best thing I've got in my flying kit.

I had one of those slide rule type flight computer things before, and it was big, clumsy, and slower to use.
The CR2 is a great size, fits in your top pocket of your shirt, and easy to use in flight as it has a view bar to line up the numbers. (if you need to use it in flight)
Just thought I'd put it out there, and I'd highly recommend this type if you're looking to buying a flight computer sometime.
Ian sells them in his shop, and it's quite cheap compared to what I got mine for!

To go through CTA of any sort, you need an 'un-restricted PPL' for a start.
I'll let the more knowledgeable help you with the rest.

I like Kilcoy strip, hope it was a great trip for you.
Somewhere in the middle of this video I land at Kilcoy strip - in a Teccie -

Ah... Thanks Ahlocks... the reporter, great read mate!

Took the 172 into the Gold Coast airport today, sitting at the holding point awaiting take off clearance... and also aircraft on final, which was an Airbus 320. Was surprised at the wake turbulence that I noticed coming off it as it went past and into the flare.
Wasn't bad in anyway, but you could feel a slight wriggle of the aircraft. Was pretty interesting I thought. And obviously something to really consider when taking off too after large aircraft.
So it just made me think about it... has anyone ever had any hairy experiences encountering wake turbulence? Thought it would make for a good awareness subject, and interesting discussion.

The way I understand it is... well yes it depends, but; The Warrior is a high performance aircraft, and so is the J160. So in my opinion it would be okay.
I think it would be more relevant, like Bass said, with the difference between High and Low performance aircraft.
Just my thoughts :csm:

Sorry to hear Pud, not fun at all.
(Me and my brother made a go-cart when I was younger and we got everything finished... started up, but we accidently geared it wrong... and it was going backwards!! I know the let down feeling of being so close, but so far!)
