  1. Tomo, wrong ! dont get so antzy, I meant good juxtaposition as in good positioning in relation to the cars and plane NOT IN PHOTOSHOP.

I hate photoshopped images in general and prefer skill right out of the lens.

    Again, a good shot Tomo.

No worrys at all skydog, problem was i'd never heard of the word juxtaposition before and didn't know what on earth it meant.... so I looked it up on google and well yeah, it said it meant something about layering or whatever, so i just thought you might of thought that i've layered two pic's together or something........;) but all is good:hug:

    Thanks again,

  2. Nice juxtaposition there Tomo.

G'day Skydog, thanks for the compliment:thumb_up:, but from what i gather from the word juxtaposition you reckon i've been playing around with photos to make that one? But I ain't, that was taken at Longreach airport standing in the car park.....and the photo is untouched apart from making it B&W.....

  3. Geee Guys all these pic's are just awesome:clap: I thought i was a half decent photographer, but i think i better get back to the books:ah_oh:

Crazy D: Am I right about the top photo being the Temora Meteor? Very nice picture:clap: I had all sorts of trouble taking pictures in that shed...

  4. Maybe its the PPL way to say, Hey i'm a GA aircraft with higher qualifications and I have right of way when it comes to those little Recreational aircraft....

They probably think they have to stand out some where, problem is that ain't gonna work...without causing problems....

I think thats actually a part of good airmanship (being polite that is)... its no good being a great pilot and have a pushey personality...

  5. I just come across this website where you can download free ware stuff for your mobile/PDA/Pocket PC etc... and the link below goes to the aviation section where there's a cool flight calculator download, and also a range of other pretty helpful stuff as well, like weights and balance calculator, timers, etc...

aviation Windows Mobile Pocket PC software and freeware for wm5 and wm6 Pocket PC Phones

    Have fun...

  6. Well G'day everyone, I hope you've all had a great Christmas week and had fun meeting up with all the relly's again...I did anyway...

I'm writing about this Mighty Men's Conference, because the speaker is a world known evangelical Farmer... now that might sound odd, but it's true. I won't go into all the details about him, for you can look that up yourself if you so desire. And i'll add some pictures of the brochure for you to look at.

Just a few bits of info i'll write down...

The conference is to be held at: Advent Park, Kalamunda

    Perth, Western Australia

On the Friday the 27th of Feb, to Sunday the 1st of March 09

Cost: is a bit over $100 inc accommodation, And is fully catered. The whole event is totally not for profit, but purely for your benefit in hearing what this Farmer has to say. And that is "Angus Buchan" The man who inspired the book and movie "Faith like Potatoes"

If you'd like to know about "this" Farmer and what on earth he does, you can go to Shalom Ministries and more info about the MMC go to Mighty Mens Conference - Angus Buchan

And Just a snippet from the past... Angus holds the Mighty Men's Conferences's in South Africa also, and the last one had 67,000 men in attendance...

Ps. The whole reason I thought of letting all the Recreational pilots know about this event is because you could, maybe get a group together and make a bit of a fly-in out of it:idea:. Advent Park is only Ten minutes from the domestic airport apparently, and there will be transport running during the arrival times to and fro the airports i'm pretty sure.

For more info go to the websites that I've mentioned, and just a word from myself about this fella...I heard him speak earlier on in the yr and he is really an encouragement to hear....

PPS. I hope i haven't violated any advertisement laws Ian... I am not linked to this fella by no means, so i'm not trying to get a cut from it at all (and like I said, it's a not for profit event either), I just received this pamphlet in the mail, and because I've heard him speak, I thought it worth while others knowing about it...

    Cheers,

  7. :After spending half an hour trying to set up the wireless router, getting error message after error message:angry: I rang the help line where the recorded message chick told me this is gonna cost ya 40 bucks exclamation.gif.7a55ce2d2271ca43a14cd3ca0997ad91.gif I spent another half an hour with the heavilly accented tech (I could understand 2 out of every 3 words) before he decided it was a dud and I should take it back and get a replacement.

Don't you just love all this new fan dangled electronic gizmo's that reduce time and money.....?..... for the inventors anyway:laugh:006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif

If all else fails just go out to the cows for some stock standed comfort...006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif006_laugh.gif.d4257c62d3c07cda468378b239946970.gif

  8. Well I got a mini computer thingy [its a HP iPAQ] which is what I'm using to write this from the lounge chair...using wireless internet from the desktop... I'm tikle pink with it, I can get a gps thingmy for it also. I also got a lot of other niknacs as well, & chocolate. pretty good going I reckon...

  9. Interesting read there Turbo...

I drove around the Bathurst speed way early on this year, and around the S bends it certainly was an eye opener for me... to see it on TV it doesn't look as anywhere near as difficult as it does in the flesh. you'd have to have some pretty quick thinking going around there at a decent speed I'd reckon....

Thanks and have a great day:thumb_up:

  10. Drop tests only test structures in one axis where as an actual landing stresses in two. The fore/aft axis is what will rip the u/c off if applied too harshly. Does that make sense?

Yes I did sort of wonder if that was a problem...that's probably a bit of a hard test to do though, statically and in a shed anyway...

Chird65: If i'm correct, that's what they do on Jumbo jets isn't it? but with compressed air instead...

  11. I've seen them test the undercarriage of the Jab's, and they give them a big canning to which they withstand...so assuming that it can handle that you'd think it should be alright with your situation... I think you can actually view a video of them testing the undercarriage of the Jabiru on there website somewhere...

But I should let the experts do the talking....just thought i'd let you know what I've seen...

  12. Tomo.. Im not stirrin up trouble mate.. I was just asking a simple question..I won't go into the "rules" as this may be seen by some as me having a bad attitude.. But we need to be carefull we are doing the right thing before pointing fingers at others.. wouldn't you agree??

Yes I agree merv (that's a good way of putting it:thumb_up:)...I was just having a bit of fun, but it prob'ly sounded like i was stomping you down:sorry:... which i weren't...:black_eye:
