G'day Peter... and Welcome to the forums...
It sounds like you've got a pretty good grip of whats happening with the wing and lift etc...
If you look at the lift formula...
Lift = the Coefficient of lift X air density X the velocity X surface area...
now it's a bit more fiddly than that with all the squaring this and halving that, but thats basically what you need.
So if you decrease one source, you'll need to increase something else to make it equal out...obviously you can't change the surface area of a wing (well the aircraft we fly anyway!)... so that's how they work out if the aircraft your flying will take off from a certain airstrip high up on the mountain...
But I'm sure you sound like you already know all this stuff anyway...

Or here...www.recreationalflying.com/forum/general-discussion/28720-pictures-your-area-property-house.htmlYou may want to post a pic on this thread : http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/general-discussion/12373-show-us-your-privates.html -
And G'day Sk8...You sound like an American even without the accent:laugh:

Anyway on the serious side, I'm sure you'll have fun around here, and see how seriously funny us Aussie can get sometimes... especially if you read the NES!!

I'm a country fella, so we gotta protect the city guys from all the snakes, and kangaroos....................................quite frightening to some of em'...
Have Fun....

I just had this idea...
Most of us fly, so that means we probably have a picture of where we live... Ie... your property, or house, to even your area in a city... So why not show it off!
I reckon it's cool seeing where other people do there thing, and because where spread all over Aus we should get some good variations in scenery...
So Here goes, this is our place 4klm east of Cecil Plains, on the Darling Downs... We've only got 4 acres in amongst the farms... theres also a bit of a airstrip on the second photo...just a smooth dirt road really!!

You may have to put a bee in the back to balance it out:laugh::hug:Hey turbo, Do you think a wasp would fit in one of the J170s???:thumb_up: -
Congrat's mate... Nice looking machines they are....
The painful thing on them is you can't sms video/photos, only email them... other than that my uncle's pretty happy with his as well:thumb_up:
-
I could be interested...Don't know if there will be too much interest in a copy watch, but worth a try.Is it in good order, other than not ticking!! such as cosmetically?
-
You got a picture you can put up.... so we can have a look:thumb_up:Maj: I have a spare Brietling. Looks like a REAL pilot's watch. One thing though, it was bought in Bali.
Very cheap!DeccaIf you want to sell it, and it looks good... it could be a race between Maj and I...;)
-
Done it....Email that back to the Darling Downs Aero Club, and see if it's correct Tomo. -
Guess the engine and aircraft it was in...
The engine above was the largest and most powerful radial design ever made. Name both the engine and aircraft it was used in...
I found this on an aircraft website, and this was there quiz pic and words... let's see how you all go...
Ps. I won't be able to let you know if its correct though...

I just found a fancy type of watch... the brand is Tissot...
My uncle actually has one I just found out as well, and they are a beautiful watch...but have an amazingly expensive price!
They look just like an ordinary analog watch, but my uncles is the new touch screen type, so you just touch the thing you want... be it Temp, compass, altitude, air pressure, and a heap of other stuff I can't remember now... very easy to use...and see...
Unfortunately it's hugely out of my price range, so I can only go on drooling over the pictures....and my uncles arm...

So Maj... IF you happened to fly to Narromine via Dalby and Picked up you know who...what would be the fuel consumption for the trip?
I'm just throwing around a few options....
I've also PM'd you...
-
Nev......You'll love it....that's all I can say....
The guys at ADFA are a pretty friendly bunch...I've been for a joy flight over there a couple yrs back...
-
Well yes and NO... ya comma brakes down and ya'll get the part the next day... The Howdy...err...Audi does the same... and yeah, you might as well go and buy another car by the time the part turns up...not to mention the cost..!Theres more commodores than Audi's at the shops to, doesn't mean they are better:laugh:Don't worry, most of our vehicles are European.... except the Holden...
-
Now ya cooking with gas...:thumb_up:Maybe Emerald,Chinchilla or Dalby, then Narrabri and Narromine......................
-
Yeah that area is secluded for us first class members...
-
Yeah it is a bit.......but a change of scenery won't do you any harm!!!That's a long way from Dalby !!!....

North Qld eh... that means you've got to fly through the S E Qld area to get down...;)Hey, any pilots in North Queensland (preferably large breasted female). I've got the plane, if you've got the fuel money, must be up to sharing some flying. I've flown the route before, so I even know the way !! Lets talk.............................
Dalby, Toowoomba, those are good pick up area's...... Twmba's pretty hopeless for weather though, so Dalby would prob'ly be best...
-
On-Ya Brett... well done...
-
Any one flying from around the S E Qld area? With a spare seat...will share the cost obviously...
-
Well I won't stop Ya...:thumb_up:So if anyone is actually interested, I'll put it all on site in the next few days, when the time is available... -
Depends what you watch...The sun? some hands ticking around a circle?, its always forward too!I like to watch.Does that count? -
I just received mine last week, so the next one won't be due until May I think...Does anyone know when the next one is due, I have just asked to be added to the mailing listBut if you feel like it, you can actually ring them up and ask them to send out the last issue(s), for free...
Well I did when I first signed up anyway, a few yrs back...
