  1. No. Im going with what is proven. Lyndon
  2. No. I have the type 3 gearbox for future proofing, but I'm going for a fixed pitch. The kitfox IMO does not require a constant speed. Nor does the gearbox like a heavy propeller. Lyndon
  3. Not cast in concrete but a four or blade eprop. Just get past the look of it when it's not spinning. It's not a thing of beauty Lyndon
  4. This engine has good performance to 23000 feet. I'm wanting to get to 10000 feet in ten to fifteen minutes or there abouts. That's where I like to cruise. I'm also not fond of aircraft when fully loaded on a hot day barely getting over the fence. So allround it's should be and economical reliable engine with a big safety margin. Lyndon
  5. Never even seen one Lyndon
  6. It's that or hose clamps and rubber hose. Eg the older cassette type. Like I said a complicated system. Lyndon
  7. In fact you now have 3 layout options to place them in series. To suit your aircraft I presume Lyndon
  8. That's the old style pumps. These new ones don't use rubber hoses and pipe work. Those are not available any more. Lyndon
  9. I've got the layout. Just need to buy the fittings. Lyndon
  10. Sounds good.
  11. Rotax have a complicated two pump set up with non return valves and an extra line with a restrictor. My question is. Do I just go to racetech and buy all the A an N fittings, elbows etc. The whole set up has flared fittings. Airframe mounted so little or no vibration. Or have off the shelf car fittings failed by experience and I need aircraft quality and price. Thanks Lyndon
  12. I have an engine. The kit is sitting in Port Melbourne waiting for a berth. Hopefully in a few weeks it will be underway. The case and gearbox hardness test and oil galleries test were performed and it's a good one Lyndon
  13. PTT Radio flip flop Trim AP disconnect Ident AP level On the other side a trim and PTT. Lyndon
  14. What's a good comfortable grip and what are people putting on it. I have manual flaps so we can remove this. Thanks Lyndon
  15. I ride adventure motorcycle's. Tubed and tubeless. Vast experience with punctures. A plug in a tubeless tyre works perfectly. A tube in a damaged tyre or rim on a tubeless tyre works perfectly. ( Patch the inside wall where damaged) Tubed , get the wheel off and patch it properly or a new tube. There are no short cuts. I personally wouldn't want to land on a tyre that wasn't fixed properly. Once you have done it a few times it does become easier. Lyndon
  16. At two thousand hrs I would suggest the lifters and cam are toast. Especially if it's been run out of a school with on avgas. The last engine I built was full of sludge with the cam and lifters being roast. The rest of engine was in good nick. Lyndon
  17. Box shipped Tuesday and has arrived in Richmond CA. Some prices, if anyone is thinking of importing an aircraft. The crate was $2100 USD Get the said crate to Richmond CA $2640 USD. You can do the maths at .64 cents in the dollar. Thanks Lyndon
  18. The Kitfox is about to ship. Wednesday from Idaho to San Francisco. So by the end of next week it will be waiting for a LCL in San Francisco onto Adelaide. Hopefully late May early June it will arrive in Port Adelaide. Ordered September 2024 with a two year wait time for these aircraft. I'm thinking they like the sound of the long wait, but in reality its pretty much straight away for a build slot. Thanks Lyndon PS. Is this the right place to update my build. ???
  19. I think there is a two or three new ones in Australia. Should be a fun build and nice to fly for a few years Lyndon
  20. Its about to ship. So in a few months I will start a Kitfox build and a you tube. Stay tuned Lyndon
  21. Signed off. I take it that means completed and flying. I see 883 days left on the rebate. I can register for a rego number while building I believe. Lyndon
  22. Long shot I'm sure. But here goes. So if I'm building a VH Experimental this year am I entitled to any free government money. Sounds to good to be true ? Thanks Lyndon
  23. So it makes a stencil
  24. I'm a long way from doing the panel. I'm comfortable leaving the panel upgrade out now. I will have it done here and save some money. Thanks for the info. Lyndon
