    Generally true, to the extent that you don't have to carry it at all times, but yes, produce on request eg by CASA - at a time/place/method agreed. (not "right this minute!) but losing it, or having someone else lose it for you, is a way bigger deal.

    Pilot logbooks - and your aircraft logbooks too for that matter: They are YOUR logbooks, NEVER leave then anywhere else but in YOUR possession. If someone else loses them, it becomes your problem. So please, don't do it!

    I would think that CASA could not direct a sport org to do accident investigations - that's out of their scope. CASA does not do accident investigations so can't make someone else do it.

    Welding can indeed be done by the amateur builder. Many to most people who have built an aircraft have very likely not undertaken anything like it before, and they generally turn out the best work. I built a wooden aircraft, I did need help with some metalwork machining and welding - those were beyond my capability and equipment. Wood, fiberglass, fabric and paint, instruments and wiring, I did the lot. I was gong to jump in earlier. You can amateur-build Serial No. 2 off the plans you have, and you can change anything you need to along the way.

    So 'who' is going to be issuing fines? Your average Joe Plonker at the airport won't be. I have been trying to find out in the regs 'who' can even ask to see your asic. Have not really found it yet. i.e. - what gives any Joe Plonker worker at your airport the right to ask you for anything? "I'm the airport safety officer on a quad bike" Show us your badge then Kojak.

    Perhaps consider one of the headlight polish creams like Meguiar's PLASTX polish. I use this on headlights, it works great for me. I'd use it on my canopy glass if I needed to.

    Well I'd like to congratulate Skip for deciding to find a test pilot. The reasons don't matter really, it's great thing to decide to get someone in who might be in a better position for success. Bravo I say. (and yes, I did test fly my own tailwheel plane years ago.)

    Melb Airport. Years ago, five minutes after they widened the entire 34/16 to 60m to cater for the A380, the 380 got certified to operate of 45m wide runways! DOH!!!

    Back in September 2022, SAAA referred the following guy in USA over to RAAus as we virtually never see sail covered wings etc, they are more common in the RAAus fleet. If you google his name you'll find a green aircraft on youtube. [email protected] Malcolm Brubaker Friday, 2nd September 2022 7:57 pm I sew sails in the USA. I receive several requests a month for sails from the AU. I am considering coming there to teach a few people to sew sails. I am looking for contacts to advertise this venture. Can you help me?
