Oh, that's a good idea. I thought cabin heat usually came from a muff around the muffler itself, but taking it off an exhaust pipe makes sense. -
I saw that and almost pooped myself because I thought it was Warbirds over Scone... But hopefully that's still on!

Definitely fake. The aircraft 2 planes clockwise from the reversed wing one, doesn't seem to have a HS.

I hope their engineering is better than their spelling. Their manual has a "Foreward" (foreword), and talks about the "lubrification" system.

Purchasing? You should never need to buy a rooster, anyone who has chooks is happy to give excess ones away.

Not all birds mate for life. Having chooks I can tell you roosters mate with anything that moves.

My cowl is from a mould another 701 builder made. For me it was simply a means to get a semi streamlined shape from prop hub to firewall. There are quite large openings in the front, especially compared to many Rotax cowls, and an even larger outflow hole around the noseleg - so I'm hoping enough airflow circulates to work probably. If I have difficulty managing temperatures I'll have to experiment with baffles and more targeted direction of airflow. As soon as I work through the glitch list Peter and I noted, I'll start doing runs with the cowl on and see what difference that makes.

This may be a silly question - apologies if so. If I'm understanding correctly, if a 24- reg aircraft is sold with the engine on condition, the new owner can't fly until they do this annual $330 MARAP? So - what's to stop you changing the reg to 19? It's not like you can use the plane for training / commercially anyway because the engine is on condition, so what's the advantage of staying with 24?

As I said Nev the flights don't match up with HBA-MEL. Newcastle may be easier but not if there's an extra 10 hours waiting for flights. Anyway it's all booked now so I'm not changing it.

Well, I'm all booked. They do, but unfortunately the flights from HBA-MEL don't match up. Flying into Sydney on Friday 27/3, hire car, staying at an Airbnb in Muswellbrook and flying back on Monday 30/3. Hope the weather is good! Massive Spitfire and Mustang lineup by the looks of it. If you're going, send me a PM and it'd be great to catch up!

I think you may be mistaken, gold price is $200 for 2 days. Tickets – Warbirds Over Scone WWW.WARBIRDSOVERSCONE.COM.AU For me the $85 general admission for 2 days isn't bad, compared to the flights/accommodation/hire car etc needed to get there.

Well the difficult thing there Skip is that the 701 plans only go to the firewall (plus the bed engine mount if you're going that way). So engine setup, cowl and cooling is all experimental.
