2. Yeh I started out in aero modelling, ended up designing and building my own but my pride and joy was a 1/8th scale replica (scatch built) of tintinara's AT 802 (air tractor)

never got to fly it though as I sold up every thing in a time of hard ship(regrets hey) It went over to the riverland(along with some 10 other of my babies).never to be seen again..I often wonder how she flew?

  3. What's your GPS coords?...might land there next time I fly over to Lameroo

I had Barry from lamaroo here last week (drove in) he metioned a few trikes where haeaded back from lamaroo to strath a week or so ago .My pa at Peake rang me that morning and I ran out side to witness around 5 trikes (1 after the other) heading across ,just est of my strip.wondering if you may have been one? any way awesome sight.

  4. awesome. A couple of days ago I finally had my first airbourne visiter. A beautiful 6cyl fuel injected Jabi from wellington made a perfect landing on my 300 meter strip,Put it down with ample room spare and after some hanger talk watched a magnificent short take off (100-125 mtrs)107_score_010.gif.2fa64cd6c3a0f3d769ce8a3c21d3ff90.gif

no words can describe my joy in seing a plane (thats not my own) land here,,truely made my day..thank you so much. :beg:been waiting patiantly for someone to fly in.... of coarse I had to emediatly ring my Pa,my Dad and any one else who'ed listen. .lol

  5. Well done Tomo, love the Vid,It looked a lot like my supercat in the stall. That too drops right wing and rudder is very sensitive so my first stab threw the left wing down, now stall recovery is just a small tap of left to speed up the right wing..anyway lovin the vids Keep it up mate.

  6. Good stuff flyerme,I notice you have key start - fancy eh? And doors you softee - what are the door frames made of?

ha ha ,yeh I dont like the breez on my cheeks lol they were made from an old Quicksilver main wing rib inserts (not by me) I think they are about 5/16,very light, but closed nice and flush, excellent pro job.they also are attached with wing nuts on 2 hinges for quick removal for open flying (if u like that sort of thing?lol) I should mention ,I am very regretably and sadly be advertising it at the end of this week.. I purchacing a T300 yeh an old GEMINI twin seat.... so will advertise my T83EH on ebay starting at $5000 with 12 months reg ,only 31 hrs on engine 330hrs on airframe(although still fly it every mourning) radio and head set, more details when advertised and yes fly away no more to pay...will demenstate and give a very detailed flying technique and happy to watch you fly here but it is the easist plane to fly NOT like the twin this is very very doscile any way more details when advertised it has been a very hard descission but I really want a twin seat and after owning this beast I love the Thrusters..

  7. I am as my username says. The K stands for Kevin. You can guess what the G stands for. I only put it there as people keep putting a B in there for some obscure reason. My profile says what I fly & what I am building & where I hang out & you can even find my birthday which gives everyone plenty of time to save up for a birthday present. A gift voucher for 1000 litres of fuel or an EFIS are just 2 suggestions. Oh if you happen to be Gina Reinhart just a half hours wages would be fine.

would you settle for some used rec mags? ill wrap them real nice..

  9. :clap:awesome, the first plane to land here..A beautiful Jabi from wellington made a perfect landing with half the strip spare,,045_beg.gif.b05ea876053438dae8f282faacd973d1.gif ,what a neat plane ,fuel injected, and love the red detailing,,I,m now a jabi fan...I want! !!!!!!!,the take off was better than my supercat getting off the ground in only 100-125 meters,,and climbed like a rocket.,, made my day,of coarse I had to call my Pa to tell him all about it ,then my dad,my mate ,my. siste,r my .oh sorry, I was really excited.029_crazy.gif.9816c6ae32645165a9f09f734746de5f.gif

  10. By the way.We delivered 3 thrusters to Collie W.A. 1988 reg no 250177 was one.I still have the guys name. One got grass rash before we got there as the guys tried D.I.Y training . Doesnt work.

early 80's was mostly D.I.Y training!! apart from the od fellars and ladies that did an hour or so in a Cessna,,apperently there was more crashes back then ,but keeping under 300ft proberbly had somthing to do with it.. love the self tought guys,,, big cahoneies me thinks...045_beg.gif.b05ea876053438dae8f282faacd973d1.gif

  11. another rough morning.Took the supercat for a fly to coomandook ,then to KiKi,,then Peake and home, yep I've got some rough air here, constant turbulance(mainly sink) here over sherlock but sitting at 1500 was pretty smooth all the way, a lil too rough at my Peake strip to fly her between trees but over sherlock on final she was rough,,made for an interesting landing as asi fluctuating and plane sinking, on the ground wind socks are all dead still ,not a wisp of wind ,forcast is 2.9 knotts overcast 6 deg..It seems to be some of the roughest air Ive had to fly through the last month or so,was accually smoother here on the summer mornings?

P.S had a Jabi here couple days ago but don,t think they seen me standing on the strip.. still waiting for someone to put her down? Mark Rindel and his 4 seat jabi ,will hopfully put her down here,He had a look when he stayed here last week and is pretty conferdent..I'll be waiting with the kettle boiling...

    and loving these stories,

  12. Flyerme,If your beast is controllable to a degree ride it to the ground, if it is uncontrollable and you had a chest pack on I would bail and try my luck on that as you got nothing to lose only something to gain if it opens in time, if it don't open same end result.

I'll hold this to you, if I win lotto I WILL buy you your BRS just because I can and you would like one and you seem a nice fellow with a passion for aviation just like me:-)

    Alf

fingures are crossed...sure would make the wife happier.101_thank_you.gif.0bf9113ab8c9fe9c7ebb42709fda3359.gif.lol much appreciated, take it easy, and just on turbulance, took off this morning at 11:30 and devils were out again,it was wind shear and very vilent, incredible sink and no smooth air any where just a constant dropping of wings and sinking, the thruster handeled fine but approach was made with left stick and left rudder to hold her on line but the sink was the most ,Ive encounted here, all the way down , even in ground efect... was only 6knott and 5 degrees

  13. I remenber back in 2004 when I first thought of getting one for the bunyip,it was $4500 and back then still just out of price range,I recently looked at one for the supercat and was quoted (on line u.s quote) $7600 posted, unfortunatly still out of my carrer's pension price range..I also thought about an old school chest pack, but then I think you might get those thoughts ..do I jump ?or can I ride this beast to the ground? I just read a story about a Brittish Bomber found in the saharah desert, the ocupents bailed out but one fellars parachute did not open and he fell do his death but the plane continued another 20 miles before landing on the desert floor with only minor damage.

I think if money wernt an issue we would all proberbly have BRS,, hey maybe a goverment grant should be in place? or even a pensioner discout?lol

also I love getting first hand advice on this here forrum instead of reading myths,misconceptions,etc.. you boys and gals convinced me ,if ever I should win lotto(thatll mean using presious fuel money for a ticket) I'll buy one..

  14. Seeing the inspection windows just behind the seats reminded me of some photos Tony Tiffin sent me. Hope you don't mind me posting one of your shots here Tony.

  15. There's your Devil right there in the quarry. With all the bare rock heating in the sun, they generate quite substantial thermals. I avoid those and bare rock mountains/hills wherever possible.

headed to my other strip at Peake this morning an decided to fly out to the peake sand hills, situated 3 kms nth of peake and as soon as I approached the sand hills ,I encounted major turbulance so headed back to calmer air..lol
